Very versatile product
The wheels come off, what a great idea. With a little ingenuity the wheels can be mounted on steel shelving units that weight a couple hundred pounds when filled. I built a wooden L shaped bar in the garage, a total of 18 feet around. I put one wheel in each corner and one in the middle. Only 2 of the 5 brackets are visible. I can push the bar with literally one finger. The wheels are super strong and solid to move things on.Almost everything in the garage is stored on wheels. I store the wheels in a box so you don’t lose an ankle. I can move everything in my garage to the other side in less than 30 minutes, with no assistance. Easy to move things around to make space for a project.

Used these for my artist desk
I used these on a home made artist desk. I built a form and used a kitchen counter top to make an artist desk. It is long heavy and seriously takes some muscle to move. But it is so awesome for painting and my pencil artwork. I had to find something to move this desk around for cleaning underneath. I saw these on youtube, bought them and problem solved. These were tough to put on but they lift the desk for moving and drop it for stationary working. Pretty awesome.

Be Warned of Fastener Options
These casters are fine but you need to be aware of how the bracket for removable casters works. The set ships with two types of fasteners - wood screws (1/4” or 14s, can't tell) and M6 bolts. The wood screws are only intended for use if you are directly screwing the casters to your, um, whatever. The round head screws will not work with the removable bracket because they stand too proud for the caster to slide into the bracket. The black bolts included are meant for use with the bracket. The legs in my workbench are 100mm x 100mm, and the black bolts won't even go half way through. I want to be able to remove these casters so I don't kick them constantly, and I need to be able to screw the mounting brackets to the legs on my bench, so I figured I'd buy some flathead screws. That turned out to be a little more complicated than I thought it would be. I checked the head size on the M6 black bolts with my calipers. 0.406" diameter, 0.099 head hight. That's a pretty small and shallow head, and it needs to be shallow to sit as flush as possible with the mounting plate. Most flathead screws of size 12 or 14 have a larger diameter and deeper head.I searched the entire fastener catalogue of McMaster-Carr to find flathead screws that would work, and the sum total of options was 1. It's a wood to metal undercut flathead screw size 12, catalogue number 90420A763. It was $32.50 shipped for two 10-packs.So if you need to screw the mounting brackets to your item, be prepared to spend over $32.50 more.Otherwise they're fine. They're casters, they hold the weight, and I can take them off. Which I like.

Heavy duty, well-built casters were easy to install and work great!
Right out out of the box I was impressed by the weight and build quality of these casters. I wanted to install them on the two legs of my Weber BBQ (that weighs 160 lbs.) to make easier to move around. Yes, the instructions tell you to mount them 1.4" (one point 4 inches) from the ground. For me that translated to 1-13/32" so that's what I used. I mounted one to a scrap 2x4 to make sure it would give me 3/4" lift when mounted according to the instructions. I opted to use the mounting bracket that allows for quick removal of the casters when not in use. Although I will leave them on most of the time, I will likely take them off and keep them in the garage when it rains in the winter. Overall, I am very happy with these casters. I just flip them down and they lift the BBQ up high enough to make it a breeze to roll around the concrete patio.

I love these removable casters!
I built a wooden pedestal for my front loading washer and dryer. I wanted to be able to roll the pedestal around for these reasons: 1. Keep the pedestal off the floor and move it around while applying my finish coats 2. Place the pedestal in the middle of the room for easier loading of my washer and dryer onto the pedestal before rolling it up to the wall for all the connections 3. Be able to roll the pedestal away from the wall when periodically cleaning out the dryer duct. But I didn't want to always have casters sticking out the sides of my pedestal. These removable caster wound up being perfect for my needs. Lifting the pedestal up on each caster with a press of the foot and then lowering the pedestal is so easy. Once I had my pedestal in place, I removed the casters (leaving the attachment brackets in place). Now with the casters removed, I was able to slide my basement refrigerator back in its original place close to the dryer. I am so glad that I found these casters.
