Worked great on the beach
I used this on the Texas gulf coast. This typically means you have to do some walking to take the trail over the sand dunes and even more walking to get to your spot on the beach. The car handled great! I love it! No more trying to juggle all our stuff in my arms carrying down to the beach. I was able to put a fair amount of sand toys in it, a small cooler, and two backpacks into it.To get across the sand (both soft and hard) I found it was easier just to pull the cart instead of pushing it. I definitely had to pull it going uphill both ways through soft sand to get over the dunes.Compared to the old way of hand carrying all of our stuff this carts is completely awesome. It handles mild abuse quite well.To clean it during our stay I just shook the sand off. When we returned home from the beach I hosed it off good and put it into storage.

Handy for musical instruments
I was at a dulcimer festival a few years ago and saw these carts being used to carry dulcimers, stands, etc. from one place to another. It was an outdoor festival and needed to be pushed through gravel as well as uneven fields. It was wonderful. I have recently had to be in similar situations and the little cart I was using, just couldn't roll well through this terrain. I have 2 instruments, a stand and a stool to carry. They fit very well into this cart and it is great to use to get these from place to place without wearing myself (and others who help me)out. One of my instruments is a hammered dulcimer which is trapezoidal and large. HOwever it will fit in the basket part and my stand will hang over the front frame. It rolls easily and is easy to fold up and unfold. It is also lightweight. It is a little larger than I would like, but to have all the other advantages, I don't think I could find one smaller that would have all the other advantages. I love it.

Nice Beach Buggy
This is one of the best beach buggy's around. I live on the Jersey shore and on the beach a lot. This buggy makes it so easy to move my stuff. The wheels glide over the sand, the storage is enough for a family of 5 and the construction is long lasting. I had one for 22 years before the salt air attacked the cloth material on my old one.

Makes 'getting there' a little easier
As the size of our family grew, transporting the various necessities - toys, chairs, drinks, umbrella - from the car to the waterline and back became increasingly harder and that's why this little cart was ordered. So far, it survived one vacation plus a few weekend outings and we'll be bringing it along this summer to a long beach-bound vacation. This is a 'pull' cart, riding on two 10-inch wheels, wide enough not to sink too deep in the sand, and sitting on 4 wheels - the picture shown at the Amazon page was not accurate at the time this review was written. The cooler rides on the bottom platform and it can take several beach chairs - see the picture. Everything else goes inside a 'mesh' bag that should have enough room for sunscreens, a few beach toys, books, blankets and so on. In addition, there is a little rear storage pocket closed with a Velcro for flat items that are not supposed to come into contact with the sand. This is what I liked about the Rio cart:- It was easy to assemble. All you need to do is push in the 4 wheels and the big wheel's axle, snap the frame into the 'locked' position and you are ready to go.- It folds flat for storage so it does not take a lot of room in the trunk. With the big wheels out - which we didn't do - it should be almost completely flat when empty.- Easy to pull on sand for as long as you spend some time securing the chairs and everything else.We weren't very impressed with the 'cooler' platform at the bottom. It can take maybe a 2-gallon cooler but I would not try anything heavier. I am also skeptical about the '75 lbs.' claim. This is NOT a strong frame and I'm afraid that the mesh bag would tear itself apart if overstuffed. We tried not to go over 50-60 lbs. and it didn't break yet but the whole structure feels 'stressed' under the load.My overall evaluation is 4-stars (I like it). It's a good solution for bringing most of your 'stuff' to the beach which is great, especially if your favorite beach is 1/4 mile wide or if you want to set your temporary camp away from the most crowded areas.
