Q: Can it carry a 44 lb 10x10' canopy easily???

Not positive, but we carried a big cooler on the bottom, a beach umbrella, 3 chairs and there was def. room for more 'stuff'. It moves easily, though on sand we pulled rather than pushed.

Q: Are the rear wheels easily removable for storing the cart?

Yes. All the wheels are easily removeable. Their customer service is very good . Left a message for a broken front wheel with my name and adrdress and they mailed me one at no charge. Love the cart.

Q: does it come with a cooler what dimensions are the opening into the cart

It comes with the cooler bag that attaches to the cart. It also has straps to attach an umbrella to the side. I don't know the exact dimensionsfor the opening but it is big enough for adding multiple beach bags. It also has a place on the handle to hang the beach chairs from. Hope this helps

Q: Are the rear wheels just cheap plastic? I need something that will hold up well on pavement.

The wheels are plastic but they seem to be made of a sturdy material. The wheels on the back are wide, designed for beach use, they are def not flimsy. We loaded the cart heavy and had no problems. I just showed it to my sister in-law and she loves it. She is planning to purchase one for her next family vacation as well.
