Absolute crap, it never worked at all.

This is definitely a very basic can opener, and unfortunately, it shows in the performance. It works okay for smaller cans, like soup cans, but anything larger seems to be a struggle. It often has trouble latching onto the can properly, and there have been multiple times where it gets stuck mid-use, which is frustrating. You end up having to reposition it or try again several times just to get through one can. Overall, it might be fine for light, occasional use with small cans, but if you regularly open larger cans, this probably isn’t the best choice.

Not the best but it dose its job it's easy to clean and cuts any can I put up to it. I would give 5 stars but it doesn't have a holding function for after the can is cut my last one did and I miss it so much!

Al principio pensé que realmente no necesitaba un abrelatas eléctrico, pero después de usar uno resulta difícil querer regresar al manual. Este modelo hace el proceso mucho más cómodo, especialmente cuando tienes que abrir varias latas. Es fácil de utilizar y no requiere estar haciendo fuerza con las manos. Eso también puede ser una ventaja importante para personas mayores o para cualquiera que tenga dificultad utilizando los abrelatas tradicionales. Me gusta además que su diseño es bastante sencillo y no ocupa una cantidad exagerada de espacio. Después de utilizarlo simplemente lo dejo en su lugar y está listo para la próxima vez. No es un producto complicado ni pretende serlo; simplemente hace lo que uno espera que haga. Para mí ha resultado práctico, conveniente y una buena adición a la cocina.

Works good. When it's opening cans, it's a little difficult to get the can in the right place sometimes but when you do, you don't have to hold the can while it's opening it.

The handle does come off pretty easily. Too easily, in my opinion. It likes to fall out even if I'm just moving the can opener around on the counter. The bit that holds the magnet in the handle is plastic and broke on me one day soon after I got it. I can't imagine how it happened. It's not like it gets treated rough. It's just a can opener after all. Still, with a bit of filing and some super glue it's back in place and still mostly works. The other reviews that mention the magnet being weak are spot on. It barely holds the lid once it's cut and I often get frustrated with how many tries it takes to get the unit to catch the can just the right way so it will cut. One of the selling features for me was the mention of a knife sharpener. Upon receiving the unit, I noticed it's a super cheap V style sharpener built into the back of the unit. I wanted it for my pocket knives but the way it's built in, it's really only useful for the large kitchen knives. Barely. It doesn't do a good job and have since just given up on that feature and gone back to the sharpeners that typically come with the knife sets. Heck, the $10 plastic el-cheap-o V style knife sharpener I bought at some bass shop works way better. I have to wonder if it actually has a grinding stone in it, or if it's one of those "ceramic" bits that turn out to just be plastic. Hard to tell. Not worth the effort to inspect. Pretend it doesn't exist. Overall, I definitely should have gotten a better one. I thought about getting one for my mom but if hers broke too, I would feel pretty guilty for giving her a crappy gift that reminded her of me every time it disappointed her like mine disappoints me.

🎈The can opener arrived ten minutes ago, just before 1pm on the day promised. I've already given it 5 stars because I didn't see a 'question mark' option. The item came out of the box easily -I sliced the tape on the bottom flaps- and encountered the same problem others reported when I tried to remove the cord from its storage compartment at the rear. It fought me. I pulled hard but didn't want to do any damage. The difficulty was posed by the twist-tie holding the cord together in a small space. I snipped the twist-tie with scissors and the entire cord came out easily. I immediately opened 2 cans of tuna and 1 can of sliced potatoes. The device worked smoothly. Like a kid at Christmas, I wanted to open lots and lots and lottsa cans but couldn't justify it. So I'll have to wait until I hit the supermarket. For ages I've been relegated to buying cans with pull-tops or their own key key {like tins of corned beef}. 🎈If the opener poses any kind of problem in the future, I'll post it here. If it doesn't perform, I'll post that too. But so far so good. 🎈Separate from the purchase itself, it later occurred to me that I could have saved the $7.43 shipping fee and bought a slightly higher-end model with free shipping for just a little more money. I'm not very savvy and tell myself I gotta remember that for next time. But I probably won't ...😜😍😁

Me encanta que sea tan sencillo abrir una lata, literalmente solo tienes que sostener la lata solo un segundo y después la sueltas y hace todo el trabajo, también tiene abrelatas y afila cuchillos 10/10

I need this as manual openers are getting hard to use with my hands developing arthritis. This item works great. It took a few tries to get the hang of positioning the blade just right on the tin lid, it's a bit tricky, but once I figured that out, it's now so easy to use. I was surprised how heavy it is, it feels really sturdy. Somewhat noisy, as are most of these auto openers, but not nearly as screechy as the one that I used to have. Glad I got it.
