JetDirect Printer Intereface
HP4100n laserjet printer; You have to set up the printer port with the IP address for each JetDirect card. Works great.

Low price and easy way to share your plotter on the network.
When we bought our HP DesignJet, the adapter was very pricey, so we went with the included USB port and hooked it up to a random PC that happened to be nearby. Sometimes that PC is not on for one reason or another, or somebody has "upgraded" it and forgotten to set the printer drivers up - not a big deal, but annoying when all you want to do is print.Putting the printer directly on the network eliminated the issues of having to be right next to the server computer and makes the printer readily available to everyone in the office.Setup is a little awkward - there is no way from the front panel of the printer to set the IP address - you have to find out what it came up with from DHCP then go to the built-in web page to change it. Other than having to figure that out setup was simple.

HP JL Print Server just works
Print Server worked as it should. Just wish the cards had a USB port as well in the event the ethernet port failed. That said, it worked as it should and I'd buy it again.

New life for my old printer
My current PC does not have a parallel port so I have been running my Laserjet 4000 with a USB-Parallel adapter. Printing speed was OK on text-based documents but PDFs and graphics-intensive documents took forever to get to the printer. The printer has been a reliable workhorse for over fifteen years and I really did not want to get rid of it but I needed more speed.I bought this JetDirect 620n to extend the life of the printer and avoid the expense of a new laser printer. I am very glad I did. Setup was a breeze; I installed the card, plugged in a LAN cable and went to the Add New Printer dialog. My PC found the printer, I clicked YES and that was it.Now large files and small start printing almost before I click the Start button. I am entirely pleased with this product.

Last minute buy to repair much needed plotter.
We started having problems with our HP 1050c Plus, where plot files would not ever reach the plotter over the network, or the plotter would start receiving the plot and and then display 'system error'. The diagnosis on the machine was just a code and looking it up online, the message was 'bad hard drive or network card'. We don't have a hard drive, so it was the card. The symptoms got worse day by day, at first a reboot would cure it but later the plotter would crash as soon as it finished initializing after a reboot. We believed that we had to have a new card, so of course I went to Amazon, and there was a link to new and used cards. The new ones are about $400, and I wanted to make sure this was the problem before shelling out so much of the company's money so I looked at the used ones. 'Wow!!' - eAsset Solutions had a used one 'in good condition' for $49! So I ordered it from the on the spot. I am usually very cautious and skeptical of buying used equipment on-line - but the price was right. The card arrived in three days with FedEx Ground. It appeared to be in very good shape, very clean at least - since you can't really judge computer parts by the way they look. We popped it in, and it connected to the network automatically - so it was in fine working order. All we had to do was re-initialize the card through the printer menu to clear its network settings and it automatically obtained a new IP address from the server. Then we could use the connection through the server to set it up. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars on 'ease of use' is because being used, it didn't have a user's guide or interface/setup software. But this was an easy download from HP (after a fairly difficult search on their website).Overall this was a good experience, and I would recommend Amazon and eAsset Solutions to anyone.

Gave additional life to my old device...
The molded plastic retainer/bracket was not a good fit in my HP LaserJet (and grey, rather than beige) so I replaced it with the one from the failed original, after which it fit nicely and worked immediately. The firmware is a more updated version so there are some refinements on the printer display. It's worked well for over a year now.

Good price & works fine but may need to be configured to be seen on network
Replaced a failing 610n. Easy to install but required changing the Jetdirect 620n IP address to the static IP my network expected using the embedded EIO 1 menu accessed through the printer control panel buttons. Changing the IP address may be intimidating to some but Google "EIO 1 menu" and you will find lots of helpful how-to information. BTW, My printer is a Laser Jet 4100.

Dissappointed
Could not get this card to work to replace original card purchased with printer. My tech guy could not either. Got error message that download of software was needed, but also warning that this could cause printer to not function at all. Decided to abandon card and connect to a workstation with usb. Vendor offered to help and perhaps to refund, but not worth the effort/time to return.
