Detail King Flex Swirl Finder Flash Light

First off, don't be fooled by the name. "Flex" is the model, not the brand. It's made by Cree. At first I was a little edgy about spending $40.00 plus postage for a flashlight to begin with. I've seen others - even the Cree brand - for much less. Shop around before making a purchase. That being said, while it's very bright, and a great help in tracking my progress polishing my car, it's not 100%. When I pulled the car into direct sunlight I still saw some minor swirls that didn't show up under the (so-called) Flex light.To be fair, it's a very bright flashlight. I took it outside at night, and it easily lit up an area 50 yards away. From a hundred yards I could still see where it was throwing some light. I only gave it two stars because of the exorbitant price.

Save your money !! If you are looking for a regular cheap flashlight , being promoted as a paint defect light ,and being overcharged by at least $30 -- this is the ticket.Just plain ripoff ! But hey it did include some cheap batteries too !

not as special as I had expected. about the same effectiveness as my high-powered LED flashlight.

This is really just a tactical flashlight with a Flex logo.Pros:- It is very bright- It works well for finding swirlsCons:- The strobe setting is annoying when accidentally switched on (its on the same switch as the power)- The rubber handle slides and makes difficult to use with one hand as it requires more force to push the power button in than it does to slide the rubber pieceOverall, I'd recommend just buying a led flashlight with the same lumes/watts, as this one is hard to use while detailing and I don't believe there are any special attributes that make it suited for swirl finding. I also own the Rupes Pen Light for finding swirls, and even though it does not have as much output, it's much easier to use with one hand, lighter, and fits in any pocket.
