It works if square coverage is obtained
They worked as described if square footage is obtain. Had to cover 15x19 room 285 sqft had 2 400w covers 240 sqft replaced one 400w to a 600w covers a total of 320 sqft -19 degrees holds temp at 72 degrees up 2 degrees 2 400w holds it at 70 degrees with a fan next to one 400w panel. The 600w panel replacement holds it 72 degrees without using a fan. Outside temperature above 32 degrees panel efficiency goes up where it will bring up temperature up to +76 degrees as outside temperature goes down below 32 efficiency goes down outside temp at -15 panel held at 70 degrees furnace went on 3 times over night to hold 74 degrees without panels furnace will go on every hour spending 4-5 gallons per 24 hrs big savings my last fuel delivery 150 gallons for $960 my electric bill using 4 panels with other electric use $250 per month at maximum use. I told my other elderly friends to look into it a lot of them out there needs heating help. One more thing that accessory heat shield panel to increase efficiency is bullshxt. I think my fuel delivery is going to be once a year instead for 3 with these panel always its always warm I totally recommend the use of these panels.

Failed twice in 2 years
Bought this to heat the theater room in my basement. So long as I kept the doors shut it would heat it perfectly. except for the smell of course. It is real, something between a chemical and cow manure smell. The smell slowly fades, but after 2 years it still slightly smelled like a cow pasture was next door. I was planning on painting it to see if that would help. Besides the smell, the switch on the panel burnt out after about 6 months. I pulled the switch out and bypassed it since it would be regulated by the thermostat power switch anyway. It worked that way for another year, and then stopped suddenly. I pulled the back panel off again and found out that a wire about an inch inside of the ceramic had burned through and had burned a hole in the plastic as well. Not sure how dangerous this was, but it seems like it could of been a fire hazard. I'm hoping I just got a defective unit, since I have another one that I am thinking about installing in a downstairs bedroom that is hard to heat.

Seems to work
It was easy to install, but I do believe the company needs to update their installation video - it has conflicting information and no reasoning as to why the written instructions are different (upgraded?). The video shows the heater installed above an outlet (the instructions say no). Somewhere it says at least 4 inches above the floor, but when you ask them directly, they claim 12 - 18 inches above the floor. Some models have a heat guard and some do not, is there a difference in the amount of heat the device will put out? I was told "no" but I read or saw somewhere that it will decrease the amount of heat. This company, so far, has good customer service. I have phoned and emailed and received responses right away.I am not certain why their heaters need to be so far up the wall, where others can be used lower? I know the optional stands for this heater are 12 inches where other similar heaters are half the size or less?Regarding the heat output - I have the 600 watt in an open Living room which has a hallway attached and a kitchen entrance. At a setting of 78 degrees, it kept the area at 61 degrees when the outside temperature was in the low 30's. They do recommend 2 heaters in open spaces. I don't mind the house in the low 60's and this was purchased as a possibility of switching from pellet stove to all electric heat. We would like to be able to go away for a long weekend, but need to have the stove tended. By having electric panels, we could feel confident that the pipes would not freeze in the winter. I have yet to test the heater below 32 degrees. I am planning to purchase at least one 400 watt for the kitchen and see how that works.Overall the panel did give heat, but I could easily see why you may need more than one.Keep in mind where you would place it prior to purchasing - the large 600 watt heater is 2' x 3' and can go on the wall in either direction - this large heater can not be used with the optional stand, so it must be mounted on the wall. I was told via telephone, that it cannot go above an outlet or below, it cannot go under a window, and it needs to be installed 12-18 inches above the floor. Sounds easy, but in my house I could really only find one spot in the living room. Also, the screws go very far into the wall - turn off electric power in that room in case you accidentally screw into a wire. The thermostat plug (included) takes up the entire outlet. If your home is like mine, I use every outlet in my house. I will ask the electrician to install a dedicated outlet. In the meantime I did purchase a heavy duty short extension cord meant for heaters and AC to use in the meantime. And yes it is true, the smell is awful - but it does go away. I opened the box outdoors, as suggested by others. I kept the heater in the garage for 3 weeks, with the window open. I then moved it into the enclosed porch for a week and eventually into the living room. When I first turned it on to test, it smelled. I turned it off after 30 minutes. The second time I turned it off after one hour. The third time the smell was gone. They claim you can paint it, but I wasn't certain where its home would be so I have not painted it yet. I would believe that painting it would get rid of the smell much quicker - use no voc paint only.
