Mammoth Creameries, Ice Cream Keto Vanilla Bean, 16 Fl Oz

I read mixed reviews about this and I don't usually write reviews, but this product needs to be addressed. First of all, I don't eat ice cream that has a lot of ingredients I can't pronounce. Traditionally, I've limited my ice cream consumption to Breyers or Haagen Daz (sp?). I can make my own keto ice cream but I was hoping to find one pre-made. Mammoth is it! Just look at the ingredients. This is made with cream (and butter) and other ingredients I actually recognize. I bought the vanilla and it's creamy and delicious. It isn't super-sweet, which I prefer, and has a mild vanilla flavor. I happened to be sitting next to a cold cup of coffee when I was eating this ice cream, so I added a few spoonfuls of coffee to the carton and mixed it up. Delicious! Then I tried adding a little cinnamon and vanilla. Delicious. With vanilla, you can add any flavor, of course. I haven't eaten ice cream in a month of Sundays (because of my keto diet) and I almost felt guilty eating this. I definitely feel like I cheated, but I didn't! Yes, it's more expensive than other products, but it's keto and it's real cream and real butter. Besides, I won't be eating it every day. I hope this review helps someone make a decision to give this a try and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

So...I wanted to like this because it is available at Whole Foods for easy delivery, and few keto friendly brands offer just a true basic vanilla bean ice cream. Unfortunately, this just didn't hold up. The flavor is watered down and doesn't offer that richness you want out of a true vanilla ice cream. Additionally, after just a couple of bites, you'll feel like your mouth is coated in grease or wax, much like if you had just eaten a spoonful of pure fat or maybe a melted candle. It's unpleasant enough that I didn't want to keep eating it. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other brands that offer a more true ice cream experience. All in all, this was a miss for me.*Also important to note is that they use Xylitol. While this is a keto friendly sweetener, anyone with pets should be very careful that they don't get their paws on this as Xylitol is highly toxic to our furry friends.

This is actually quite good. The flavor and the sweetness is very mild, so it is the type of thing you want to really pay attention and feel as you eat to feel the subtle flavor. If you need strong flavor and sweetness you will hate this. I would buy this all the time if not for the high price.

I'd like to start by stating that "Keto" Anything is not bound to taste as good as regular food. Remember why we are on keto. Whether its because we ate too much regular food or it falls in line with health or body goals, we chose keto. So this does not taste like amazing gelato that you can eat all day. However of the three or 4 brands of Keto Ice cream I've tried this is by far the best. It is creamy as opposed to many other Keto ice creams being chalky. It has a great texture and melts like real ice cream. I personally have tried the vanilla and the chocolate peanut butter and yes the flavor is bland but I usually add a couple drops of vanilla extract to it and WOW it really tastes like great ice cream. I think this product is expensive but worth it and I hope you will enjoy it as well.

Bland taste...but I could get used to that because it is truly a Keto product. However, the consistency was such that there was no way to spoon the ice cream out of the container without it crumbling into many, many pieces (which usually went flying across the room). I ended up biting it out of the container, while peeling the paper-ish container as I went. I had ice cream all over my face. Not a pretty sight. I gave the product every chance I could but, obviously, not a great experience.

Almost no flavor and bitter after-taste. Coats my mouth and makes it feel like I ate a candle.

Well, it doesn’t compare to real ice cream. The texture was thin-at first I thot it was “icy” but then I realized it’s just not creamy like real ice cream. I think I’d gotten the idea it was “keto” but I should have read the ingredients more carefully. It’s so not “keto” & if I’m going to spend all those calories on sugar, I’d prefer real ice cream! Will not be buying again!!

While semi-creamy, this vanilla ice cream has little vanilla flavor at all. The price is too much for such a dull flavor.
