How does this compare to the LonPos puzzle??

It's virtually the same as the Lonpos puzzle.  There is a version of Lonpos  that's 3d, i.e., you have to build a pyramid . I think it was Mindware that used to sell it. Haven't seen that anywhere else.

trying to decide between this and kanoodle , what is the difference ?

Thank you for the question. I found a response to that very question: Someone asked if this was like the kanoodle:

I thought they were the same thing when I first saw IQ Fit. (We have the LonPos puzzle as "Kanoodle".)
It is a different puzzle. This board has holes in it. You have to place all the pieces into the puzzle so the top is completely flat. Therefore, to get everything in the right places, you have to turn twist and make sure the excess nubs go down into the board holes. The challenges tell you where to place a few of the pieces. Then you have to figure out the rest. 
Personally, I like this one more than LonPos.

I have 13 grandkids,and i would like to purchase one of these iq games for their stockings.  which should i get for ages 5, 7, 10, 11,12 13, 16 and 18

The IQ Fit is great for all ages.  It has 5 categories - Starter, Junior, Expert, Master and Wizard.   My 4 year old grandson does well with the starter puzzles and actually did a couple of the Junior ones. There are 120 different puzzles to work on.  If your grandchildren enjoys puzzles and have  time and patient needed to spend figuring out the solutions, then they will enjoy the puzzles.  Good luck and happy holidays.

The “starter” level puzzles could easily be handled by 5 year old, “junior” is more challenging but a 5 or 6 year old could potentially handle them depending g on their patience level, “expert”, “master” and “wizard” levels would challenge all ages including adults. If you have poor spatial awareness they may even prove too hard. Awesome puzzle game for the whole family!!!!!
