DO NOT PRIME IT, it floods it, otherwise great saw.
Chainsaw works great once we figured out to not follow the directions. The manual says to prime it 7-8 times when first trying to start it. This floods it and it will not start. You do not need to prime it. When cold, just pull out the choke and pull 1-2 times, push choke back in and it starts right up. Runs well, has enough power and chain is really sharp and stays sharp. Not quite as powerful as my husbands old Jonsered, but plenty of power to cut down trees and cut up several cords of wet and seasoned firewood(oak, hard maple, beech, ironwood, ash and cherry). We are very happy with this saw.

Best Chinese made saw
This is my fourth efco saw in ten years 4100 trim saw is kinda cheap, still a good runner, the mt 6500 pro saw is 10 years old itโs a beast, nice saw , 8 years ago purchased a mt 5600 pro saw nice very powerful, replaced a on off switch on the 6500 , now order the mth 5600 nice saw for Chinese best out there got 3 days non stop, you can get parts off e bay stores and takes some digging, I have replaced a few chains and bars nothing major, just the switch, if you can afford the mt models they are better you get a decompression button on the pro saws, my pro saws where made in Italy , donโt be afraid of Chinese efco mth 5600 still a great saw

Would buy one again
I'm by no means a professional logger. The saw was bought for farm use & has ruffly 3 days of solid use on it. I bought it to be a backup/replacement to my stihl 025. The only thing I can tell is the stihl seems to have a little more low end power. However price difference and overall performance I'm extremely happy with the efco & would buy it again. The efco runs great & will definitely get the job done. I would give the saw a solid 5 stars but put it at 4 do to finding a dealer close by is an issue. Chains & parts can be found online.

Decent chainsaw for the price
I've only got about 4 hours on my Efco MTH 5600. So far it seems like a decent chainsaw for the price. Efco chainsaws are made by Emak. There is not a lot of dealer support for Efco chainsaws, but if you know how to work on them this would be no big deal. Oregon sells chains for this chainsaw that you can get online. It has enough power to get the job done for the average homeowner, Farm & Ranch person without being overly heavy. I have bigger chainsaws around but seem to favor lighter chainsaws as I've gotten older. I would have no trouble buying this again at this good price.

Decent chainsaw.
It seems like a nice chainsaw, but I was hoping it wasn't made in China.

Pro design in a part time saw
Good chainsaw, it has the a proper 3 part engine design like a pro saw instead of the clamshell design you see in some more expensive and cheaper part time saws. The air filter access is a little small, but comes with a good quality Oregon bar and chain.
