Built Solid for Leafy Stuff (if that's what You want to Do) But Slow and Time-consuming Clean up
I have to say this masticating juicer is built strong as a tank and will no doubt last forever; and I'm guessing may be one of the best masticating juicers on the market in it's price point. I'm new into juicing and bought this model as it is more efficient as a percentage of volume in extracting juice from leafy greens (kales, watercress, spinach) than a rotary juicer--like the Breville 98XL, which I also bought--and that one is more efficient in extracting juice from the higher water-content fruits and veggies like carrots, tomatoes, apples, oranges, etc. So I figured they would compliment one another: masticating Omega for the leafy stuff; and high speed rotary Breville for the high-water content stuff. But what I found is FOR ME is:-- the Omega involved way too much cutting and prepping as the chute is only like 1.25" wide versus the like 3" wide chute of the Breville-- By nature of the slower masticating design versus high speed rotary; it is so much slower in extracting juice, even with non-leafy stuff: it takes a significant while, and it can get "clogged." easily.-- The volume of the juice holding tanks is so much smaller than the Breville; I'm guessing the Breville has a 1-liter juice container, and the Omega about 25% of that (not good when you want to make drinks for two.)-- By design; the juice if more fibrous in the Omega versus more liquid in the Breville.-- Time and Effort: the Omega is messy and time consuming for clean up with a lot more parts--smaller ones with more nooks and crannies that are hard to get to to clean; and with a lot more fibrous gunk packed on to it after juicing. And this was the big deal-breaker for me. So it is difficult for me to appear to "bash" this product by comparing it to a rotary juicer; as it's almost like comparing a sedan to a tractor: both are excellent for what they are designed to do. If you want to travel fast on the highway, the tractor is pretty useless; if you want to plow a field; the sedan a complete waste of money. So that's the rub: this Omega is awesome in extracting the most amount of juice out of the leafy stuff; but to do so, it takes this masticating design; which is a bit messy; and takes A LOT more time for prep and cleanup. So If you are a hard-core "green" juicer with lots of time on your hand: this is your awesome tractor!!! It's a solid built tank!! But again FOR ME; I don't have the time, nor patience, to prep and clean; and I'm not a hard-core "green" juicer. So although I'm really impressed with its build quality and merits: it's not the one for me. (Note: as I've read: the best juicer is the one that works best for you!). So we ended up returning it (and Omega was nice about it) and kept the Breville and are happy to accept the lack of efficiency in the green leafy department juicing for overall shorter preparation; and much quicker and easier clean up time, and larger and quicker less fibrous drink volume. Hope that helps! But I ended up returning this as

Awesome Juicer!
I never put much thought into juicing until it was recommended by my hydrotherapist. She insisted that I try it out after taking numerous things about my dietary needs and body type into consideration. As an O-positive blood type, I love to eat meats and can naturally and easily indulge in high amounts of protein without major impact to how my body functions. I don't get sludgy after a good steak. Rather, dense carbohydrates are my kryptonite, but I've done well in staying away from those. What a high protein diet did accomplish, however, was a stopped up colon. Apologies if this embarrassed you, but the body does what it needs to do, and it is what it is...only natural. Anyway, the right types of vegetables in my diet provide natural enzymes that help my body break down the proteins.I bought the Omega because I was looking for a juicer that would squeeze as much juice from vegetables as possible. I am not a fan of vegetable chunks in my smoothies, but I wanted to incorporate more nutrients and enzymes from vegetables into my diet. A lot of people will complain that juicing detracts from your diet because you're removing all the fiber. I beg to differ. Plenty of it makes it into the juice. And it tastes far better than when grinded up into your smoothie, regardless how long you let it grind or liquify.I want to caveat a couple things. Juicing has not only improved my health internally, but externally as well. I feel better, and also look better. My skin glows! I will also say that I do not omit solid meals from diet, or deprive myself from real food. I simply incorporated juicing into my diet. Such as a glass for breakfast with some hard-boiled eggs and bowl of fruit, or a glass as a snack after dinner or before lunch. This juicer grinds every bit of juice from the vegetables as possible. I will say that because it's so great with tough vegetables, it takes away from how well it sifts juice from fruits. Not friendly with soft foods. But if you're looking for mastication and just how much juice can be extracted from kale, or leafy vegetables, carrot or beet greens, this juicer will show you. It is easy to use, put together and take apart. I leave it on my counter for daily use. Crazy, I know! But once you start using it, you will see how awesome it is. You just take off the parts, rinse them in cold water, or wash them in the top shelf of the dish washer if you desire, but you really won't need to. It comes with a little brush for the filter part. You can make the juice the day before too and stick it in the fridge for the next day, and the juice tastes just as fresh!Highly and strongly recommended!!! You will love this juicer!

Works like a champ!
Before purchasing my juicer I was very diligent in my research. So hopefully I will provide some insight and to help you with your decision.I wanted the 8008 for these reasons:1) The drum is BPA free.2) Feeding chute is larger compared to older models.3) Auger is stronger.4) Juice screen is slightly larger and made of steel making it more durable and less likely to replace (unlike previous models that are made of plastic and is smaller).5) Came with a 15 year warranty.6) Chrome finish which looks great in my kitchen!I have had my juicer now for almost 4 months and I use it everyday. I believe that the time it takes and how much juice yielded is completely subjective. It is dependent on how fast you wash and cut up your produce, setting up the machine, and cleaning up the parts afterwards. Also the amount of juice depends on what type and how much produce is being used. This is my experience:I make enough juice that will last me all day. The ingredients I usually use is half a head of celery, 5 carrots, 3 stalks kale, 1 cup cabbage, 1 beet, 1 turnip, 1 tbsp ginger, 1 cucumber, 5 oz of spinach or sprig mix (half a package), 4 apples, 1 orange, 1 lemon. It takes me around 10 minutes to wash and cut up my produce. The Omega juices all my produce in less then 15 minutes (even though its pretty dry I run my pulp once more through the juicer because I'm meticulous like that). I wash and scrub all the parts and dishes by hand so this takes around 10 minutes. In total I take less than 40 minutes.I'm sure if your using a dishwasher and if you previously washed or cut your produce beforehand it would be much faster. With the usual ingredients that I use everyday it will on average yield 8-9 cups of juice. The only con I would have to mention is that sometimes when I juice all my apples at once the pulp accumulates in the drum and very small amounts of juice leak out of the seams where the auger attaches to the locking clip. So once a week I unscrew the locking clip and simply wipe it clean because if left alone the clip gets rigid from the stickiness of the juice that dried up. But this can be completely avoided, if your juicing fruits and vegetables together I recommend that you alternate between leafy greens and fruits. This ensures the fruit pulp will be pushed through and not accumulate in the drum therefore prevents any leaking. Also cleaning the screen well is important because there can be a lot of calcium build-up but this is a normal annoyance.Masticating juicers have a much higher yield and will leave you with dryer pulp compared to the faster ones. Not to mention that the slower speeds prevents heating which does not denature enzymes making it more nutritional. It is recommended that you do not let it run for over 30 minutes but I never take that long to juice anyways. The motor gets slightly warm and the noise is as loud as my microwave which is pretty quiet. It comes with different nozzles for various food processing uses but unfortunately I have not tried it yet.I highly recommend this juicer to anyone who doesn't mind its pace. It provides higher quantity and quality juice with a degradation time of 16 hours (stored in fridge).

Really good juicer except hard to clean
I did a lot of research and ended up with this based on recommendations. Of course great brand and works fantastic. We make a lot of juice and it does everything. The only real inconvenience is cleaning the parts is a big big mess. This is my first juicer so don't have anything to compare with but I definitely wish there was an easier way to clean the machine especially the auger parts. I guess that is part of the juicing life. But with slow juicer I assume maybe more mess.

Great juicer overall
Easy to use, great juicer overall. Yield is very satisfying. Had to return the H3000D because it did not squeeze the veggies, fruits perfectly. The J8008C is very good from that point of view, while not 100%. The only cons is that the filter (juicing screen) and the drum are very hard to clean properly.

Best juicer I've used...by far.
Over the years, I've tried many different juicers (from the Breville Juicer Elite, to the Champion juicer, to other Omega models and a few others) and I have to admit, by far, this is the best one I have ever used. What has always kept me from juicing on a regular basis is that I hated having to take so much time to scrub the parts clean after using them. With this juicer, cleaning the parts takes less two minutes. Often times, I don't even need to use the brush. I just place the parts under running water. It's mind blowing. The other glorious thing about this juicer is how it handles celery. Before this model, I was using the Omega VRT. With that juicer, you had to chop celery into small pieces to ensure it didn't clog up the juicer. More often than not, it still did--which meant having to stop the juicer, take it apart, clean it, put it back together and start again. But with this model, I can take an entire celery stalk and push it through without anything getting clogged up. Amazing. There is one slight issue I have. Compared to other juicers I've used, the pulp comes out wetter than what I'm used to. Thankfully, with this model, it's easy to re-juicer the pulp. I was surprised to see how much more juice was extracted from the pulp. From one full container of pulp came about two cups of juice. Two other benefits: It's much quieter than any other juicer I've used and it doesn't take up too much counter space.I haven't tried using this model for anything else but juicing, but I'm curious to. I have a feeling it would do a good job with whatever you threw into it.Honestly, if you're looking for a really good juicer, this is the one to get.

Decent for greens, terrible for fruits
This unit should not be advertised to juice fruits. Especially things like oranges you literally have to clean it every few oranges it gets completely stuck with Pulp and just sloshed around. You have to take this apart and clean it very often during juicing which is pretty annoying to be honest. That being said it did yield a lot for my greens, but I need to pair it with my centrifugal juicer if I plan on using fruit juices well.I had hopes this would have the bases covered for all but unfortunately this is half the juicer I hoped it would be.
