Let me start by saying, I have tried every single self-tanning product I could get my hands on, over the course of over ten years. I've tried the one's from the drug-store. I've tried the one's from the Department store. I've ordered one's online from facebook pop-ups. And I've tried the whole section's at Ulta and Sephora. I keep coming back to BAHAMA TAN, for a multitude of reasons. Let me name a few of them and their pro's and con's. My longtime favorite was always: St. Tropez Classic Bronzing Mousse. I have used this for years on and off. The smell isn't too smelly and the color goes on nice, looks nice and fades evenly. St. Tropez is a great sunless tanner, but for me, only the mousse option. The water spray and the oil, not so good. I've also used: Il Makiage Mousse. This is a facebook, trendy sunless tanner product line. The smell was way too much and the color and fading were just ok. Not worth the hype. Another line is the: Loving Tan Bronzing Mousse. This is alright. I will say that I enjoy the smell the most of any sunless tanner as it smells like a yummy cupcake. No smelly headache later while it's developing. The downside to Loving Tan is that the color comes out too dark for my liking and the fading is really bad. I stay moisturized, and yet it still faded in patches. Just not good. Another brand is: Vita Liberata Bronzing Mousse. Like the other's, just okay. I will say, the smell of this one is very strong. Headache strong. Offensive, strong. For that reason alone, it almost doesn't matter how good a color looks later. This was just to name of few of my product's from this year. I keep coming back to: Bahama Tan Lotion. The smell is beachy. The color is perfect. Not fake, not orange, not purple or blue. Just tan. And the price is perfect. I am hyper sensitive to smells and I get headaches easily. With that said, I have never found a sunless tanner that has ZERO scent. Even if it says 'fragrance free', that just means they aren't putting any of their own extra fragrances in it. Once it hits the body and your chemicals interact with it, there will always be a scent, no matter what. Long story short, I highly recommend Bahama Tan. it's been wonderful for me.

I am a pale red head and I do not get in the sun without spf 60 on because I have had melanoma. This is a great way to have a natural tan without the sun. I have tried a lot of sunless tanners and hate the smell of either the perfume fragrance they add to it or the strong self tanning smell after developing. This product has only a hint of coconut smell while developing and a slight very minimal tanner smell the first day after. I am sensitive to perfumes and always buy fragrance free lotions and don’t wear scents of any kind. I use a tanning mitt when applying the product. I apply it all over my body including my face. I wait 30 minutes before putting clothes on. I let it develop for 7 hours before showering. I wear loose dark clothes while it’s developing and I have never had it stain anything I’ve gotten it on. It is not fully developed until the next day. This stuff is very natural looking no streaks and no orange. I use Neutrogena Deep Clean exfoliating foam before tanning. I also use Neutrogena fragrance free body lotion and Eucerin fragrance free in shower lotion while I am maintaining the tan. I can get the tan to be nice and golden for a solid 4-5 days and then I exfoliate with still a hint of color. So I usually apply it on Monday, exfoliate on Saturday, and exfoliate on Monday before reapplying to give you an idea of how long it last. It fades very naturally without the freckled cracked orange appearance of some tanners. The tan doesn’t look freakish on the exfoliating days before reapplying tanner it just fades and you look sun kissed.

Overall Bahama Tan is an OKAY self tanner. Smell is not overwhelming or harsh. I do not think it has the self tanner smell. I applied with a mitt so I did not have any streaking and it applied evenly. The color guide is helpful but can make you nervous until the color guide is washed off. So don't sweat it until you take a shower. It will look DARK. The first two times I applied I had showered and exfoliated. Once I washed it off it did give an even natural color. But I expected more color with a level 2. It was subtle after 2 back to back applications. I let it fade and reapplied. I had to use a good bit to achieve a more noticeable color. I am happily surprised with how it looks on my feet and ankles. The color guide can make you think (Oh Crap) but again it washed off and my feet looked natural. Drying was fairly quick. In my opinion, a lot of product is needed to get a darker color so if you are a frequent self tanner you may go through the product quicker but I would recommend.

As someone who practically ALWAYS has self tanner on my skin, I have tried many options over the years. I love this product. It gives a great color, has a good (although strong) smell (to cover up DHA smell I'm assuming, but I dont mind it). The 2 major things I love about this product compared to other products are: 1) How it wears so evenly: Most self tanners I've used can look good right after application, they become disappointing after about 5 days when they become uneven and patchy , parts build up and other parts wear off leaving me embarrassed to show my skin and having to scrub it raw. I've had this on for a week now (with reapplications but no exfoliating) and although some parts have faded, they have done so smoothly and evenly than any other product I have tried (st. tropez, bondi sands, tan luxe, jergens, etc.) I reapplied the tan over my body and it built smoothly over the original, something I haven't found in any other product! 2) How easy it is to blend it when you put it on. I applied this with a tanning mitt (specifically the bondi sands tanning mitt) and I found the product is so smooth and easy to blend out on your skin. It looks GOOD and even and glowy even while it's still setting where as most other products have me hiding in my apartment for 8 hours until i can shower off the sticky mess. Cons I can think of: The bottle is smaller than I thought it would be, but it's still very worth the price. I still have uneven wear on the feet because I workout and wear tennis shoes most days (and it's summer in Texas), but its definitely not as noticable as other tans and I have not felt embarassed about them like I do when I have noticebale wear from other tans. It still looks good after a week with 1 reapplication and no exfoliation. This review doesn't include experience taking off the tan because I have not yet done so.

I have tried many different self tanners and most have been either unnatural in color, not enough color, or just streaky formulas. Using Bahama Tan has been a pleasant experience for me for the most part. I really like that the majority of the ingredients are natural and non-toxic. The color comes up quickly as a golden bronze which is deeper than golden but not as dark as bronze. I use on my face and body without any streaks or skin reactions. The only possible downside is that it does leave behind a bit of an odor as self tanners do. It would be nice to not have any odor but maybe this is not possible with self tanners? Not sure. Also, the color comes off A LOT the same day applied until you shower so be mindful of this when wearing light colored clothes or sleeping on white linens. Overall, I recommend for sure.

This is the BEST sunless tanner I have ever used for a few reasons... 1. It doesn't SMELL like most self tanners. When you open it to put it on, it has a beautiful coconutty smell to it. The smell fades and typically with other self tanners, it begins to have that 'sunless tanner smell'. In comparison to other sunless tanners, this barely has a smell. In fact, the first day was the only time I noticed that it smelled VERY slightly and thereafter, I do not notice any smell. 2. It looks NATURAL. I had some friends from work even asking if I had gone to the beach for the weekend. It looks so naturally beautiful. It leaves no orange tint on your skin whatsoever. The tan is a nice, just been in the sun look. I love how you can use it a few days in a row to get a darker glow. 3. This product is great for SENSITIVE SKIN. I tend to break out... everywhere... when using self tanner. I decided to try this one to see if it would be a good fit since it is natural and organic. I have been using the product for a good week or two and it has not bothered my skin at ALL. My skin is still clear and beautiful (yes, even on my face)! I've used this on my face and body a few times a week... I love it! You will definitely not regret buying this self tanner!!!

I was excited to try this self tanner as it's comprised of organic and mostly natural ingredients, but I didn't get a chance to try this out right away because of a trip. I finally got a chance to try it out yesterday. I opened it and followed the directions (which are excellent by the way). I got a tan that was decently even and a nice color by last night, although I had to look overly tan all day since I couldn't shower for 8 hours (the lotion makes you look darker than the tan it creates since it's colored). It also took a long time to dry which was annoying. I really wanted to give this a five star review because I thought this was the answer to my desire for a tan without harmful rays from the sun or lots of chemicals. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is this: I ended up with a rash around the base of my neck this morning and slightly swollen lips. I've tried many self tanners over the years and have NEVER gotten a rash or had any type of allergic reaction to any of them. Granted, it's been years since I self tanned, but I am VERY surprised to see how much my body doesn't like this "natural" tanner. I use organic oils directly on my skin with no adverse effects, so I'm not sure what is in this product that would cause such a strong reaction from my body. Clearly there's something in here that's not "natural" or meant to be on the body. It's too late to return the product since it took me so long to try it, but if I could return it I would. I have put my special skin oil made of unrefined coconut oil with lavender and other essential oils on the rash after showering this morning and the rash is starting to be less inflamed. I will be drinking even more water than usual to get this out of my system ASAP and will continue putting my special oil on it over the next few days. BUYER BEWARE. ********* I just saw other people have had allergic reactions to this tanning lotion in the form of rashes, so I'm not the only one. Something is going on with this product. UPDATE: I contacted the company and included the response from their representative above. They refunded me the next day, so their service is very good. Also, it took 3 days and many showers to get the strong tanning smell off my skin. It was not pleasant. My rash is still healing and my lips are not swollen anymore.

I am SO happy with this product! Finally a self-tanner that is more natural. I have been using self tanners for over 20 years and am impressed by how far they have come in general, but this product is leaps and bounds beyond the others I have tried recently. I like being tan, but don't want to spend too much time in the sun, and am wary of the chemicals in other self tanners. This self tanner smells amazing and there is a "color-guide" that lets you see where you have applied it so you don't miss a spot. The color is much closer to my skin tone when I have a natural tan. I am also fair skinned with sensitive skin and I did not have any issues with breaking out. I have been searching for larger bottles online because I anticipate using this all summer, but I only saw the one size on Amazon. I did have some difficulty with the squeeze bottle. Specifically, it was hard to get the right amount (not too little, not too much), but I dealt with it because I liked the product so much. I don't know if this is an issue other customers have experienced, it could just be limited to the bottle I received. I'd love a bottle with a pump though! In summary, I would highly recommend this product. It is probably best for those who are already familiar with self-tanners, however, I think first time users would have good results as well if they follow the detailed instructions provided on the bottle.
