Sargent ArtColor Pencils, Assorted Colors, Box Of 12

As I would hope! Nothing else to it. Great addition to a coloring book gift.

The Sargent line is usually a little more expensive than better-known brands like Crayola or Prang, but this pack of a dozen is a bargain, at present anyway. Color of pencils are orange, brown, blue, violet, black, yellow, light green, dark green, dark red, rose pink, white, and light blue. The ones I bought turned out to be unusually sturdy. If a dozen colors are enough, this is a really good product.

Very nice artist quality colored pencils for a really good price. Definitely recommend for the upcoming artist or pro alike!

I found the colours very light and the core did not match the color.

I bought these for young girls, ages 4 and 6. Up till now, they were mainly using crayolas. They were eager to graduate from the wax colors to pencils. I chose these Sargent color pencils because of the quality. They are so pleased and happy, I can’t keep them from drawing and coloring all the time.

I had to buy last-second gift for someone who's very specific about their art supplies, and this was exactly what I needed!

I need a set of 12 colored pencils for marking text. I specifically need pencils that mark easily with not having to press down hard and I also need good contrast between the colors. It was challenging to see a noticeable difference between the light & dark blues and between the light and dark greens. It was almost impossible to get a set of 12 that one of the colors wasn’t white, which is useless for my purposes. That being said, I purchased one set each of Sargent, Prismacolor, Prang and Cra-z-art and compared them. Here are my results.Prisma was probably the best quality and had excellent contrast between the two blues and between the two greens. They marked easily with very little pressure and the range of colors was great. However, for my purposes, I really needed a pink. Prisma had peach or flesh-tone instead that is not pink enough for my needs. I didn’t choose Prisma for that one reason alone. If my purpose was different, it may have been my first choice.The one I chose was Cra-z-art. There was very good contrast between the two blues and between the two greens, plus it had a very pretty shade of pink. It was the only set that didn’t contain white. Instead, there are two reds with good contrast between them as well. They also marked easily with very little pressure.Prang was very similar to the Cra-z-art and was my second choice. The reason it was not number one was because the pink was not as bold as the Cra-z-art and it contained white.Sargent had the best pink. However, it was the hardest of the four and needed more pressure to mark. Also, there was not much contrast between the two blues and between the two greens.

They were fine for the price, but the lead inside was mostly broken. So if you sharpened the pencil, before you would even get the draw, the lead would fall out and you would need to sharpen again. Maybe I just got a bad box.

Some of the colours are quite vibrant and nice, others are very dull. Also, the quality of some of the leads is adequate for the price point, but many of them break every time I try to sharpen. I do not recommend.
