I ended up down the fountain pen youtube rabbit hole and came out the other side with this pen. lol I was a little worried once I came across the pricetag of all the pens in the youtube videos, but this pen was so cheap I had to give it a go. I am using it to write pretty much everything since I bought the pen and haven't ran into any issues of leaking or the drying out of the nib. I think what I love most about this pen is that it is very discrete. If you whipped it out in a one on one interaction someone would notice it, but other than that you don't need to worry about looking out of place in a cafe/looking pretentious. ^^; The all black and gunmetal colored nib look really stylish without being gaudy too.Writing with it feels very good and I think that the steel nib is fairly stiff, which makes me less worried I might push too hard and damage something. (I was told most beginners push too hard) It feels pretty much the same as writing with a regular sized ballpoint and makes similarly sized lines to a fine ballpoint. (It grips the page less than most fine ballpoints such as the pilot g-2 extra-fines I'm used to.)All in all, a more refined writer than I am might be able to see a flaw with the pen or want something different from the pen, but to me I genuinely don't know how you could make a pen better than this. As an aside, I have pretty large hands and I like that the cap so securely goes on the back to make it longer.

I will start off by saying that I have small hands, so while I like the aesthetics of the more classic/executive style fountain pens, I find them to be too bulky for long writing sessions. I ordered this pen because I was looking for a nice slim pen for my EDC, and I wanted one in purple to go with the ink I got for my birthday.It is a Hongdian brand pen, as marked. I love the weight is has to it, despite its slim size! The purple is very nice to look at, not too dark and not too pale. I did not flush it or clean it before loading up the ink and it still wrote well, better than my other fountain pen after a fresh ink load. The cap posts very nicely and securely, and has a satisfying "click" when you cap it. I definitely enjoy writing with this pen posted, the balance is very nice. The nib is not too scratchy right out of the box, but does need some breaking in. I look forward to long writing sessions with this pen, so far it has been very nice to write with. It will also be nice for artwork, as it lends itself well to sketching and doodling.

Use it everyday … clean easy to use and gets the job done at an affordable price. Had it for two weeks .. I’m sticking with it. It’s one thing th have a have a nice pen and it’s another to have pen made for work. This pen is it … and I’ve had nice fountain pens.The ink tank with the tank filling nib is a good add on but can be messy if you rush lol

Bought this for personal and productivity journaling. It looks great, and it’s very nice to write with. Most of the time it writes beautifully, but it goes through little short stretches of too much or not enough ink flow. It’s nearly perfect, and I’m very pleased with it for the price.

I've only had the Hongdian Silver Birch Forest medium nib pen for a week but am quite pleased with both the design and the writing ability of the nib. I'm using Iroshizuku ink by Pilot which flows nicely from the pen and with this medium nib, it is able to keep up with the speed of my writing. This pen writes as well as some of my more expensive pens and is nice to look at also. I like that the cap snaps on so as not to have it come off in my purse. I do find the pen a little heavy if I place the cap on the top of the pen while I write but this is because I've gotten used to using very lightweight pens. I highly recommend this pen, especially if you are trying to reduce landfill waste with typical plastic pens.

I ended up sending this back because it was a tad difficult for me to hold. I usually like my pen to have some weight to it, and be a little longer.Still seemed to be good quality though. Just know that the cap also didn't stick on the back of the pen like I was hoping for, then again most pens don't do that anymore.

This is an example of a cheaper product with satisfactory quality that is superior to fountain pens of higher prestige and price. Compared to the Lamy Safari and All-Star (same nib on both), it is more consistent and feels better in the hand. The Lamy entry level nibs are inconsistent compared to this and it is far superior feeling than the Safari (plastic feels light and rather cheap) which is a more expensive pen. The nib is medium small and is nice to get in either black or dark blue. The size runs a bit bigger such that an extra-fine is more like a standard fine. It is solid to post and has a satisfying “phop” when removed. It is consistent and rather heavy to hold for a thin pen and long but substantial-feeling when posted. The only downside is it is prone to breaking or damage from drops or when removing the nib. Overall it’s a pen with unmatched compared with the known brands.

This fountain pen looks amazing, and in general works superb, may be isn't too soft like others but is a great product, I feel so happy with it!

Nice pen overall, slightly heavy but flow is great. Thin extra fine writing, but the flow is constant. I have used it with a weeks gap and it worked seamlessly.I opted for piston ink-filling system with the pen because having cartridge does not makes sense. I need the option of using different colour of inks depending on my mood.
