Dimplex Revillusion® 25" Plug-In Birch Log Set (Model RLG25BR), BTU 5118, 120 Volt, 1500 Watt

The media could not be loaded. Simple installation, brilliant device that creates the illusion of a real fire. I looked at other electric fireplaces costing 10 times or more as much and you're really not getting anything significantly more for the money that you could spend. For electric logs that simulate a real wood burning fire this is absolutely the way to go.

Update 11/21/22. After 5 days of airing it out, and using my tried and true methods of stink dispersal 😷… this thing still smell awful!! I moved it back to my living room to test further; and it makes my whole room smell like burning chemicals. Think model glue, asphalt and burning. 🤢I covered my nose and eyes 🫣 while I tested the heater. It heats well! There is a whine-y, rattling noise when the heater runs. Which wow, sounds like me at the moment. I have reached out to the seller.The flame looks great, especially behind my fireplace screen. The acrylic panel is not very noticeable. The birch logs look fairly realistic.I’m going to continue to look for a better option…. Something I haven’t yet found in all my searching.Original post: This log set smells like modeling glue - very strong. I hope that goes away. I have removed it from my house to try to air out. Beyond that, the material are very cheap. Feels like plastic, paper and glue. So, the cost of it isn’t because of materials. Maybe I’m paying for the R&D to make the flame look as good as it does. Not accounting for the cost of design, the materials probably only amount to $125.The flame and lights look pretty good. I’m not sure how I feel about the plastic panel.If I can ever get over the smell of it, I am still not sure I will keep it.The heater seems like it will work okay. It put out heat immediately. But I didn’t leave it on, because, well, the heater blew and it stinks so bad!I may come back and update this review later once I give it more of a try (if ever).

I searched for a unit to fit a vintage cone shaped corner fireplace we had purchased. This one fits perfect and looks GREAT. The "grate" itself could stand a little improvement, but once it's in place it does not matter.

The media could not be loaded. Love the birch logs in the Revillusion by Dimplex 25" electric log set fireplace insert!! We read the reviews and the front legs on the grates are weak. The right front leg has the controls for on/off, brightness, and the heater. The heater puts out enough heat to take the chill off but, not enough to heat a house. If I could make improvements, I would have an assortment of of colors and flames heights, as well a brighter lights! 🔥 I put red Christmas lights behind the unit and it enhanced the fire effect!! All in all, the Revillusion by Dimplex is a nice electric log set fireplace insert!! We have the option of having a real fire because it is so portable!! The best thing about the electric log.set is there is no mess to clean up!!

A REAL ASSET TO MY HOME

The fireplace logs look great, but most of the unit is made of plastic. The heating unit doesn't put out very much heat. Remote is weak, but easy to use. So, if you're going mostly for looks, this does the job well. I'm happy with it overall, but I think it's overpriced for what you get.

The effect is like something out of Disneyland! Very convincing fire, even the dog curled up in front of it. Haven't used the heater function, but the flames are so real looking it gets 5 stars just for that. Flames definitely look best at night, and the unlit logs look good during the day, too.

Bought to replace a gas log setup. Very easy to set up, looks good from a distance, marginal heat which was expected. Like many other reviewers, I'd say that the materials are very cheap quality and the item is way overpriced. The exception are the actual logs, the birch looks great. The remote is just goofy (like the kind you get with your kid's fairy lights) - you essentially have to touch it to the receiver for it to function. I'll keep it for now, we'll see how it holds up during the return period - can't have something this expensive break down!
