Vivobarefoot Men's Ulysses Active Sandal

These are pretty good for running, but they turn my feet black.

I purchased these as a gift. I went by the size on his other pair of vibrams and it was an exact match! He loves these sandals and he can wear them comfortably all day. He brought these on vacation as his only pair of shoes and wore them all day for 6 days straight with no issues. I'm glad that they look a bit more like athletic sandals than the usual strappy-gladiator type minimal sandals.

I needed a sandal, one that was more the "barefoot" type.Kept re-injuring my ankle, wearing TEVAs, as they are way too thick, on the heel, and I roll, if I hit a pebble!These, are TOLERABLE!I don't ankle roll, the main reason I like VIVOS, but the soles of these, are SO thin, the pebble that would make me ROLL, in TEVAs, will cause me to almost fall down, in sharp pain, in these.And being so thin and WAY to flexible, the front of this sandal, get caught on EVERYTHING!A crack in the sidewalk, a floor carpet, a slight bump in the dirt!

Let me start off by saying I have 5 other pairs of Vivo shoes and I love all of them. I ordered these sandals because I figured they'd be the same comfort and quality as the others. I put them on and everything felt great. After I took a few steps the toe loop started digging into my big toe. I looked at the loop and saw that the loop is stitched on the most delicate part of the whole sandal! I couldn't even walk 10 feet down the street without the loop digging into my inner toe. It feels like a plastic knife. I tried modifying it by putting tape and stuff around the loop but it was just uncomfortable. They need to fix this because it was the only flaw I could find but made it unbearable to wear the sandals.

I loved these sandals at first. They fit a little too loose to hike and run but I wore them everywhere anyway. They looked cool and were light and comfy. But over time the straps got even loser and then one started pulling out of the sole. In less than a year. Granted I did use them all the time, but I paid over $100 for them at the time (from amazon) so I expected good quality. When I contacted Vivo, they told me they wouldn't recognize their warranty because they were not purchased from Vivo directly. I have a few Vivo shoes as well and another pair is not holding up as I expected either. I want to love this company but I don't think their products are built to last.

They felt a little stiff in the upper section out of the box but wearing them around the house soon fixed that. A really great minimalist summer footwear.

Smelly feet syndrome, my god don't let it touch water. once they get a tiny splash of water, your feet start to smell really awful. thats not funny and i'm not happy about this product. to be objective the sandals did fit and they are nice for walks, however the choice of the sole's material terribly went wrong.Vivo had better plasticky and vinyl like sandals that unfortunately where out of stock by the time i wanted to order a pair. and ordering them for the second time says something. So i had to go with other options, ended up with bad product.
