The mat is about 1/8" thick I would think. This is a very dense felt like fabric.

I cannot answer since I have no experience with your mentioned fluids however, I would think it would be protective of the floor underneath.

Can a rolling chair glide over the mat?

Yes, if you have no wrinkles which occur if it's not "ironed" out well & edges held down by heavy weight. A nonslip matt underneath it might also work. I would not recommend as an office type matt for a rolling chair as there are much better options. I use it in a room largely dedicated to my cat & sometimes use a low stool with rollers on it without a problem. I steamed out the wrinkles & have the matt on carpeting, but it does wrinkle or pucker up a little with active play.
