Magic Macaw Powder!
I am happy to find this effective avian calming powder after the Avitech product disappeared from the market. I sprinkle it on both my large macaws’ pellet bowls with their multivitamins. AviCalm relieves my talkative girly bird’s hyperactivity, and my big boy’s aggressive toy wrestling. The magic powder has a subtle effect. My birds are not tranquilized, just perfectly behaved giant macaws both in and out of their cages ;>

Doesn't work. Waste of money
I've been using this twice daily for over 2wks on my rescue B&G macaw and it hasn't helped at all. Waste of money, and I just realized there's no refunds. If I would have noticed that before it would have been a huge red flag.

No taste, works to calm your bird natually
I have used this product for years and had great results. It is all natural using the active ingredient in green tea to calm birds. Kind of like medicines for adhd use stimulants to calm. I love this product made by taxonyx.

Rumored to be the previous avicalm formula
When avitech invented the formula for avicalm and put it on the market, It was considered the holy grail around here. It was accepted well by by problem birds when i added it to their food, and when their humans remembered to give it regularly, it worked! Really well! In fact, when the orginal formula was no longer on store shelves due to owner personal business matters we could definately tell avicalm was no longer in our lives. Fast forward 2 yrs later to current, I was excited to discover the avicalm formula was back on the market, (different owner, new name. Same product?) However, I wouldnt know if it works as good as before because I simply have not found a way to sneak this stuff to my birds. They will not even go near anything I use it in. Not even their favorite scrambled egg ! I dont know if it's different but my birds seem to think it is.

We've bought two 2oz jars and now I'm buying the 16oz. We're lifers!
Seriously! This stuff is fantastic. Our umbrella cockatoo is a rescue from a very poor situation, where she was kept in a cage barely larger than herself and rarely if ever taken out. She plucks and barbers her feathers. Elizabethan collars help (I've actually made a vest and collar combo that works rather well for her.) This isn't the complete solution however. She bites the feathers on her legs and crop that I can't cover with fleece, and she screams bloody murder if you don't pay attention to her 24/7. This stuff is literally a miracle worker for her. She loves it in a spoon of applesauce or her favorite--no additive peanut butter! We love our forever toddler, but this seriously cuts down on the egregious screaming due to her separation anxiety, and we've noticed her letting the feathers grow out on her legs. We've been out for a couple of weeks and she's started again with the yelling and the plucking on her legs... So we'll be buying the big bottle from now on and replenishing as often as necessary. To other reviewers: It's a vitamin, obviously it's going to wear off after it goes out of their system. It's not a cure it's a treatment. To Taxonyx, you have a great product and a great reputation, but a terrible website. Please update. It looks like something from the early 90s and looks very sketchy.

Seems to have calmed picking
I travel a lot and sometimes put stress on my cockatoo. After using the powder in her water she has seemed to calm down And it's quit picking. I would recommend this product To anyone that has a bird with stress

Great product
I have used this product for years to calm an anxious cockatoo. It takes the edge off. I can tell the difference in his anxiety level on days that I was too lazy to add to his food.

I used this on my amazon who has separation issues. I found that it reduced his screaming by maybe 20% but not enough to buy it continuously.
