Best power head for 10 gallon that already has a filter!
I love this pump for 10 gallon aquariums! I actually use this in my (female) betta tank! I superglued a suction cup to the back and aimed it at my heater to keep it from blowing my fish all over. By the way, this heater WILL NOT blow around even small fish. All the fish I’ve had with this pump include mollies, any kind of tetra (besides those larger types that get over 4 inches in size), and my female bettas with less fins actually LOVE to swim directly in the current. The current is very small, too, as the outlet is super tiny. To beef up this pump, bring it with you to a Lowe’s (or similar store), find a pvc pipe that fits tight on the pumps intake, shove a ton of filter in the pipe, and BAM you have a pretty handy polishing filter! You will have to keep cleaning the filter out, but if you like move plants around one day and do that it clears it up in about two hours! Just my two cents on this pretty nice pump! It also just helps a TON with keeping good circulation in heavily planted ten gallons. I don’t use this alone I use it with an aqua clear filter for 10 gallon.

Extremely inconvenient
I received this power head, opened it up, and it comes with no bracket/suction-cup or anything whatsoever to attach this thing to your aquarium. The box HINTS that it is supposed to be installed on the "suction pipe" of your undergravel filter...however, this listing on amazon says it comes with "Silicon Suction Cups". I don't have an undergravel filter, but I still don't see how you are supposed to mount this to the "suction pipe" with absolutely no mounting hardware provided.I haven't even tested this thing and I'm giving it one star for the incredible inconvenience of selling a product like this with NOTHING to attach it to the side of your tank. Going out and buying a $1.50 pack of suction cups is one thing, but a specialized bracket made to fit this specific power head is not something you can just run out to Petsmart and buy. I can probably come up with some makeshift mount involving silicone and a suction cup.I know it seems like I am making a big deal out of something small, but this is something that is actually highly inconvenient and will require some sort of ugly fabrication to adhere this to my tank wall. Selling a power head with no mounting hardware whatsoever is beyond me... FAIL on Amazon's part for allowing an inaccurate representation of a product and FAIL on TOM for making a product of this nature without providing a way of mounting it...*Edited 6/27/12* - I'm leaving my rating at one star but I figured I would at least comment on this products functionality. So far, it functions how it should and is pretty quiet. It is rated from a 10 gal tank, but I have it in a 2.5 gal nano and my betta seems to be fine. Still highly inconvenient that no mounting hardware came with this product, but at least it functions properly and seems to be a quality product....so far

Great little pump for smaller aquariums
Great little pump, just not enough power for my under gravel filter in 20 gallon tank. I have two and it just doesn't pull through the filter very well. Just need bigger ones.

Saved my fish, but I wish it had lasted more than nine weeks
Even with a air tube and an air stone, the oxygen in my tank got down to about 4ppm which becomes fatal to fish, but with this little pump, and the air hose, the oxygen got back to just over 8ppm where it should be. Watching your guppy gasp for air at the surfact is no fun.I ordered this on Feb 14th 2011, and it just died tonight. I'm ordering another one because I can find air pumps and water pumps, but not anything quite like this that's small enough for a 10 gallon tank.I just hope it arrives in time and lasts longer this time.

I own 5 of them. The only issue is that it does not attach to the side.
