Spooky Campfire Stories: Outdoor Myths And Tales For All Ages

I am not one to leave reviews on a product but I was completely disturbed and disappointed in this book and the reviews I had read prior to my purchase. This book is not appropriate for all ages as the book claims or as these other reviews portrayed. I have a 9 year old and a 6 year old and the stories included in this book are not appropriate for them to read or for them to hear be told to them. I thumbed through the book (thankfully) before my 9 year old got ahold of it and read one of the stories...it was a quite confusing story and had a curse word in the text. This unsettled me, considering the book claims to be for all ages. This prompted me to read another story. It was about a girl being buried alive. This caused me to be even more concerned so I decided to read another...this third and final read for me confirmed that this book is not for all ages, especially young children. It was about a serial killer that mutilated young women. I hope this review helps other parents bypass this book to find a more appropriate campfire literature.

I bought this to read around the campfire with my kids.... um no! Weird Edgar Alan Poe stories. Not kids friendly.

Not for all ages. Even if your children are not squeamish, the narratives are not captivating for the young. For older readers, the stories are plain and possibly boring. And who in the world, would even for a minute, think that Jack London's, To Build A Fire, is a spooky myth or ghost story? Do yourself a favor and choose a different book.

Most of these stories are too long and old to keep a kids interest. My 10 year old and I were really excited about this book, however the stories are all very boring.
