Exactly what I was looking for
This safe (First Alert 2062F Digital Anti-Theft Laptop Safe, 1.04 Cubic Feet, Gray/Silver) is exactly what I was looking for, has enough space to fit my documents, my small laptop, my two guns and anything else I really want to fit. I wish the wall mounting hardware was included (the floor mounting bolts are included however) and I wish it was heavier, but for the money its a great safe. Good to keep children and guests away from valuables. The physical override key to open safe if the electronic lock doesn't work keeps me at ease that I will be able to access my valuables. Its a sturdy safe, it is worth the money, I would purchase again, I also liked that the batteries were included.

Poor quality and assembly - I doubt they even have product inspection as the failure was very obvious
Pro: It fits the location we need and works after I fixed the unit.Con: They should really find a new contract manufacturer and up their quality control. As soon as I start setting it up with a new passcode, I notice that the keys would get stuck against the aluminum overlay on the front. You couldn't get it back up and would render the keypad useless. It resulted to me opening the back of the door cover, and that's when I found how poorly assembly the thing was.The keypad and control board that is on the back was only screwed on with two instead of four screws. The control board was those cheap two layer through hole boards, but whatever that's pretty common, what's bad is that the wires connecting to the board was not secure on the board (did they even do quality control on their product?). Worst yet as I unscrewed the keypad assembly from the door, I found that they used 3 different type of screws for the same hole taps, which cause the alignment issue with the keypad! Two of which weren't even the correct size! I replaced the screws with correct ones and the keypad was operating correctly. Seriously First Alert, should fire their CM and find a new quality engineer.

great safe and functions as designed
I bought this safe to house my pistol and ammo and keep it away from my daughter. I like the fact that I don't have to search for a key in case of an emergency and can use the keypad. I've had this safe for over a year and the battery still does not need to be changed. It's lined with carpet so I don't have to worry about scratching my pistol or anything other contents. One complaint is I wish the keypad was backlit since it's hard to see in the dark and the main reason I bought it is to house my "home security system" aka my pistol. I recommend this product.

Not for dorm room or 17" Laptop
The quality of the safe was iffy and the intended design was ok. However that isn't to say I'd trust my new laptop in this--even if it did fit. I was excited when I read the internal dimensions and the reasonable price but when I received the package I realized the door hinge really got in the way. I'd say a 16" or 15" laptop would be the max size thats going into this thing. When I got it it looked used, or really old (around the felt areas and packaging)so I don't recommend this for your precious items.

Its pretty Safe
The reason I bought this is because when I was remodeling my house, I hid two $1000+ watch and couple hundred dollars in a shoe box and I accidently threw the box away. Now I have everything valuable in it and it fits perfect in my closet and its not bulky.

This is a great looking safe. I use it in the trunk of my BMW. The only issue is that the batteries come loose inside the battery compartment this was rectified by a piece of foam. Great Looking

Will not keep out a determined thief but does the job i bought it for
Ok, No safe is perfect. If you want a serious safe you will have to spend some serious money. Small safes like these can be carried away and one way or another will be gotten into. I have seen videos online about how to open these safes easily by hitting it and turning the handle ( it does not seem to work for this safe) or easiest for this safe (targeting the reset button to change the code by sticking a long wooden rod through on of the 4 mounting holes on this safe. With my safe bolted to the floor with the back to the wall the safe would have to be removed from its mounting to try the reset trick. I bought this safe simply to deter theft. I keep at times a few hundred dollars and a handgun inside. By mounting the safe to the floor and having the back of it to the wall it would take a seriously determined thief to carry it away and go to work on it. You get what you paid for. I bought bolts from home depot, drilled holes in my floor and mounted it. The bolts i used expanded once they cleared the floor so the bolts could not be pryed up and the only way to get the safe out of the ground would be to cut out the floor around the safe. At the end of the day this safe gets the job done but certainly not the right product to store SERIOUSLY PRECIOUS ITEMS. Other than the problems you will face with ANY ELECTRONIC SAFE in this price range it has functioned fine. It is not fireproof or waterproof as well.

Good Locking Box
Its fine for what it is, a secure lockbox to keep kids and others from easily getting what's inside it.Don't confuse it for a real safe though, this only has one locking bolt vs. others that are similar sized having 2 locking bolts.
