Smart MAG Tool for Glock

I was struggling to replace my G20 magazine floor plate using a handheld punch - while HK magazines cost a fortune, they are a breeze to take down - not so with these Glock magazines! After scraping up my hand one too many times, I decided to order this tool. Following the included instructions, it was a flawless, quick process to remove the factory magazine floor plate, disassemble the mag, and put it back together. I also decided to try replacing my factory floor plate with an oversized stainless steel plate (entirely for cosmetic reasons). It was a bit of a challenge - as you can see in the photo, this aftermarket floor plate is larger than the factory floor plates, so it doesn't "seat" into the tool nicely. It requires a bit more maneuvering with your hands - and some more force. *However*, as you can see in the photo, it works. The tool is still able to install AND REMOVE these floorplates without damaging the magazine, floorplate, or itself - I have my doubts that a cheaper handheld tool would escape unscathed! This tool is clearly able to perform to design specs and beyond. And for only $15, it should be in any Glock mag owners' tool chest.

It took me a couple of minutes to figure it out, but it worked just fine on my Glock 43x to disassemble and assemble the mags. Sure beats a punch. It also disassembles my CZ 75b mags, but not really needed. It was no-go on any other magazines I have. For me this tool works for my 43x and I really like it.

This tool made it so much easier to disassemble my glock mags. It took considerable force even with this tool; I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be to get them apart without it. The only issue with this tool is that the front punch that lets you unseat the spring detente is too close to the round part with the grey stripe. I wasn’t able to get my Glock 30 10 rd mags onto this pin because the gap was too small. I had to use a metal punch to unseat the spring detente however after that the tool worked great. If you have mags with a big baseplate like the G30’s, you might need to use a pin punch in addition to this tool. This isn’t really a major issue but it does make the tool slightly less convenient and can lead to marring of the spring detente. There’s no real reason why the grey round edge couldn’t be farther from the tool to allow bigger mags to fit on the punch, so I have to take a star off for that design flaw. Otherwise it is a great tool, and reassembling the mag was incredibly easy! Very glad I ordered this tool even though it didn’t work perfectly for my mags.

By far the simplest and easiest Glock magazine tool I've ever owned! Far better than the hammer-looking tools from makers like Otis. No flopping around and slipping, no needing to have your tongue sticking out at just the right angle during the correct phase of the moon. Just follow the simple instructions and Robert is your mother's brother. Worked both 9mm and .45 ACP magazines.

This tools works great for it's purpose. It's way better than most alternatives out there. I've snapped a couple of the tools I've purchased on Amazon for removing the bottom of my Glock magazines. Man, they're a pain. Not only do you have to slide them, but there are two notches on each side of the magazine that are truly locked in. If you don't stick a flathead screwdriver in between the base and the side of the magazine, Then you're bending your magazine to get it apart. With this tool, all of that comes to an end. The unloader is cool, too, although I don't really use that as much. Great tool!

Amazon sent me a item that was returned and broken. The pin thats needed to take the base plate off was broken and looking at the plastic material they use i can see how easily this can happen. Too bad it seems like a great design but pastic will break.

Took a few tries to figure out how to this but once you get it its an easy job.
