LOVE THESE.
LOVE THESE ...... except for the fact that they constantly keep disconnecting from the wifi. It's almost pointless once it disconnects from the wifi, once it disconnects you then have to unplug and plug them back in to get them to respond. I completed the firmware update as recommended but it still seems to be doing the same thing.... A LITTLE LESS OFTEN, but still does it intermittently. HOWEVER... I have to give credit where it's due... these things are AMAZING when they work.... the response time of the plugs turning on and off are almost instantanious when you click them. The home app is great too because of it allowing control of the devices even when you're away from home.

Useful
So these plugs are pretty awesome... They do what they say it does AND work great with my Amazon Echo! The only reason why I'm giving it four stars is because it works great with my AC unit. But it does not work with my Lasko tower fan. I actually have to have my smart plug turned on via the app or echo and manually turn on the fan myself. However I can turn it off via the app just not on :( I reached out to Belkin, by the way they answer at all hours of the day and they opened up a case for the Fan and it turns out these smart plugs don't work on EVERYTHING. Do you your research before purchase. Setup was easy

Replacement for non HomeKit compatible WeMo switches
Recently in the news, millions of smart home devices were used as a bot-net to DOS (denial of service) attack web servers causing shutdowns of major online businesses. By encrypting communication on your in-home network and the internet of things, you make it harder for your devices to be used as tools by unscrupulous people who understand the Internet and its underlying technologies. These work great! I used them to replace several WeMo switches that are not compatible with Apple's HomeKit. HomeKit, not so much because I have an unnatural affinity for all things Apple, but because HomeKit requires hardware encryption for all communication to and from devices. Belkin, who owns WeMo, has decided that HomeKit compatibility it not something they will support. Citing no way to update existing products. They of course could just come out with a new line (2.0) of products that did support HomeKit. The choice is theirs, but I would have upgraded to a WeMo device had there been one to buy that supported HomeKit.On a closing note, I also do like the iHome switch design more than the WeMo, because it is wider that it is tall, which allows you to control one wall receptacle while leaving the other free to use. The WeMo switches used one outlet, and covered the other.

Bad product - Not ready for prime time
I purchased these plugs because of their smaller vertical profile compared to the relatively large size of other smart plugs on the market. My reason for giving this product one star is it is poor quality and even worse support. Of the two I ordered, one worked fine and the other simply wouldn't work at all. IHome's online support is very limited and didn't address my problem at all. When I called their technical support hotline, they were of no help whatsoever.I would recommend similar products from Wemo or TP-Link instead. I own both of their products and they work well.

Good units but one small glitch
Nice units. One locked up and had to unplug and plug in again. Not sure why it did that

Horrible support, substandard product.
Do NOT biy this product if you expect something that works and is well supported. I bought this two pack 2 months ago and about 2 weeks ago, one failed. It wasn't an outright failure, but it could not t be controlled by either the native iHome Control app or my Wink system. I contact support who told me to unplug it then plug it back in. Duh, already did that and it didn't fix it. I provided them all of the steps I took to resolve including resetting the product and trying to upgrade the firmware, all of which failed. Their support is useless when they actually respond and I'm now waiting to hear back about getting a warranty replacement. If that fails, I guess I'll need to go through Amazon, which I shouldn't have to since they didn't do anything wrong. Maybe they have more clout than I do if they stop selling these useless products.

Technology that Works
This works exactly as expected. I got it for some lamps that have no switches, and you can use it manually as a switch, program it to go on and off when you want, even using it as a theft deterrent to turn lights on when you are not home. You can also turn it on and off with your phone from anywhere.

Not money well spent
I used to use old fashioned outlet timers, but I really like that I can set up a schedule for my lamps and then adjust it from my device. At first, one outlet was a bit finnicky, then for weeks, both of them turned on and off at will. I reset my internet, reset the outlets, reset my devices, prayed, cursed, crossed my fingers, cried, wished, hoped...then one day, they both decided to work! Tonight I went on the app to turn one light on early, and neither outlet appeared to be working. I unplugged and re-plugged one, and the 2nd one never turned on at it's scheduled time.I rely on one outlet for a light for an animal, so it's pretty important and now I'm quite frustrated. If I still had the packaging, I'd try to return these. They've caused me way more aggravation than they are worth!! And the iHome website isn't worth much in the way of troubleshooting.
