Necco Slap Stix Caramel Pop Banana Swirl, 0.7oz each 36 Pop Box (Packaging May Vary)

My husband has raved about Slap Stix from his childhood (he's in his 40's.) He thought they had stopped making them because he hasn't been able to find them anywhere in over 10 years. For an early holiday gift and to try them myself, I decided to look online to see if they were still made, found & bought some. After tasting these, I see why he loved them. The flavor is really unmatched by any of the candies out there today. Although it says "lollipop" in some of the descriptions, its really more of a taffy and caramel blend on a stick that you can lick but will end up chewing. Its based in caramel with flavored taffy's swirled in-the yellow is banana, and is the flavor most tasted along with the caramel. The white gives hints of vanilla, while the pink I think just adds to the sweetness. These are not too sweet or overwhelming though, and while the combination sounds a little off, when it comes together in this candy, it tastes wonderful. It does have different textures while chewing-Soft caramel, taffy in the pink and yellow, and a fluffy nugget like consistency to the white swirl. Buying from another online site before, I'd recommend buying from Amazon instead simply because of some packages being Prime eligible and variety of options (Count of bulk, buying alone, or in gift baskets with other candies of the same era.) If you plan on buying candy gift baskets by era's, I would suggest getting a package of these as well and adding more to the basket or even adding them to gifts with the bows and ribbon. However, these aren't something I'd recommend for a person with dentures. These are hard to find locally, so online is the way to go. I'm definitely buying again, only this time I'll save on shipping and go with Amazon. Hope this helps those who haven't had them before but have a friend raving about them:)

I highly recommend these pops for people who like caramel. I’m a huge caramel fanatic so when I saw these candies at a candy shop, I couldn’t pass it up. I bought one and took it home. After trying it, I decided to look online to see if I could get a pack of them and here they are. It was a deal too good to pass up so I ordered it. As soon as it arrived, my entire family pounced. They didn’t last nearly as long as I expected. But I will definitely keep ordering more of them. Note it also has a small part in the middle that is banana flavor which sounds strange and I’m normally not a fan of banana flavored candy (I typically dislike banana flavor even though I love the fruit) but in this case it actually is really good and my family all agree. They wouldn’t even try it at first because of the banana part but it they finally did and now they love it. You don’t see these exact pops at very many stores so it’s good to know they can be found here on amazon. They are so good.

These are so delicious and they make me happy! They were a little hard when they first arrived, but as time went on they seemed to soften. We ate every one of them. I would order from this Seller again.

They are okay, but different in a few ways trhan the original. For one, they are much smaller than the original Slapstick. Secondly, they added a gloss (hoe it's not carmine). The originals had no gloss, were more matte fiished. Third, they are a bit harder than the original. Last, the wrapping is the flimsiest, most brittle, cheapest plastic the company could possibly have chosen. Of all my gripes, the plastic wrapping is the top of the heap. It does not come off completely and frequently pieces get lost in the candy - causing you to find it in your mouth. You can barely see the slivers of plastic still stuck to the candy, it either blends in or impales the candy where you cannot tell its there. They need to stop being so cheap and use a wrapper that is stronger and thicker - but seeing how they gimped us on the candy itself I don't see that happening any time soon.

This candy is delicious, soft and fresh, just as I remembered it growing up. If you like soft, chewy, and banana flavored then this would be perfect for you. I will definitely buy again!

The first time I ordered these I couldn't be happier. But, this box was not what I expected. The caramel suckers did not seem fresh. There were tiny holes in the candy and they were not very chewy for caramel. In fact the caramel felt hard. I was not happy with this box at all.

OMG! I used to get these when I was a kid. They are SO good. There is nothing better than the old school candy to make you smile a little as you reminisce. The caramel, banana swirl...what a combo! I love that this multipack is available.
