Oh the dilemma on how many stars to choose....You see, the jerky itself is pretty darn good and I'll admit I've even skipped some meals after mindlessly chomping down on this jerky! Unfortunately, twice I received my package and the meat had already grown mold. And not just a little bit, I literally could have mistooken it for a green kitten trapped in a jerky bag.

I have had this product for 6 weeks. The use by date is still 2 months away. I opened it and there is a huge chunk of green molded product in the bottom of the package. Never seen this in a jerky before. It has been stored in my pantry in a steady 72 degree climate. Not happy with this product at all. I'm 2 weeks over being able to return or get a refund. My advice, check your package when you get it and don't count on it lasting until the "best by" date.

whenever Amazon sells Jerky under $1 per ounce, I always like to sample it. I recall seeing this brand at my local Target over $1.50 per ounce (BTW - Target's $1/oz house brand Pepper Jerky is great). I tried Wild Ride's Peppered and Hickory, since sweeter flavored Jerky are rarely done right. Peppered is always a safe flavor to try since few makers can screw that up, and this one did not disappoint - very nice balance of pepper and smoke without downing it in salt. the Hickory tasted like pickled meat with a strong dill and parsley aftertaste, while being way too salty and moist. both had about the same gristle percentage than that cheap import Amazon sells from World Kitchens Jerky. If you like your Jerky drier, just leave it in the fridge in an open bag for a few days. I'd call the Pepper a 3 star jerky, and the Hickory 2 star jerky, that both earn a bonus star as long as it's available under $1/oz. One annoying thing about the package - the ingredients list is microscopic - sort of makes you wonder what they are hiding...

I gave Wild Ride Sweet & Hot jerky a try - mainly because Amazon jacked up the price of Jack Links Sweet & Hot unnecessarily high. Found them to be tender and flavorful - much like that other brand. Good amount of heat, but not overly so. I like this flavor much better than a peppered jerky, or a jerky that leaves a lot of whole chili pepper seeds on it.I like that the pieces aren't overly large, but smaller pieces makes too easy to have another, and another - and before you know it, the bag is empty. Will definitely be purchasing Wild Ride Sweet & Hot Jerky again - highly recommended!

I love beef jerky and I'm not picky to all the additives and stuff as long as it taste good.SO this jerky taste good. I get it every month because I'm on the subscription and only pay $13.00, so for the price it is actually GREAT. I've never had a problem with the jerky being moldy (like other reviews have mentioned) but there are times when there is a lot of gristle/fat and it is not the best looking. I usually will take my scissors and go through the whole bag and cut off the fatty pieces (some months there is more fat than others) It would be nice if there was less fat and I knew what I was getting every time but after cleaning it up it is usually really good and tender for most of the part.For the price it's good and I will continue to order it as long as that price does not go up. There are other Jerky's that I order for more money and it is better tasting and better quality than wild ride but that is to be expected. This one is good and will satisfy your cravings but it you are looking for great quality then I suggest you try some of the more expensive brands such as "Wild Bill" or Buffalo Bills" or even some of the game jerky.I buy both because I just love jerky.

This is the best jeky I've had. It's so good that I've setup an automatic shipment every two months. I ran into this product in Barstow, CA at a T/A stop. I decided to give it a try since the clerk stated that it was the best jerky she had ever tasted. She was right, it was excellent and made for a delicious snack enroute to Las Vegas. The jerky isn't hard, but not really soft either. Just a nice balance of texture. The heat comes on slow and takes a few pieces to really be felt, but the sweetness of the jerky is just right, so TASTY! Give this jerky a try, it's wonderful that these come in 1lb bags. Anything smaller and I think I would end up eating a bag a day.
