It's nice to find hardware that's made well and works well. My husband makes wooden lazy susan's for my upper kitchen cabinet shelves so that I can reach items better. These work well!

Money well spent
I wanted to build a large Lazy Susan for my table for gaming nights (board games/card games often required you to read text and it's very annoying to have the cards upside-down or side-ways to some of the players who sit around the table). After looking at buying a pre-built one, I figured I'd save a few dollars, build my own, and have it just the way I wanted. This bearing seems to be overkill for such a task, but I liked the overall size of 12", so I went with it it.I got it in, unpackaged it. A downside is no screws provided. I glanced at the directions, but it wasn't hard to figure out for yourself.I went to the local hardware store and bought a 23.75" round wooden platform. I brought it home, found center, drew a 12" circle, and threw this on. I Found 4x screws I had laying around and attached through the provided hole on the bottom of the bearing. I turned it over and invited over my friends.Despite having no bottom and it simply sat on the bearing for the table, the near 24" slab of wood took a lot of force to tip over. It rolled pretty smooth the whole night. Looking down in it, it seems there is a light coating of grease included on the bearings, though just a touch noisy. Ultimately, I think I will make a dedicated table with a revolving center using this bearing as I have good faith that this thing is solid and will last a long time.

Four stars if you get one version - 1 star if get the other
I ordered these at two different times about a week apart. The first three were very good. Absolutely no sound when shaking them or after installing the round plywood top. Work great in a corner cabinet although they will never see 1000lbs. Metal edges were smooth, and the metal was coated with protective coating that gave it a uniform color. The packaging was marked Shepherd ( see picture) with directions for installing. The last one I received was in a plain plastic bag with a label (left one in the picture)- looks similar mechanically but sharp edges and some coating that isn't uniform. This would be ok if it wasn't for the extremely noisy operation of the bearings both when the product is shaken and when installed. This appears to be a cost reduced version although the selling price is the same. Shame on the product manager that authorized this change. I would buy more if I could get the first version as they are really quiet. I also ordered some smaller ones and they have the same issues. Returning them.

Great product! Inexpensive and works good
Used this to make a storage unit for hardware that spins. Hardware probably weighed between 150-200 pounds, My unit worked smooth right out of the package. I probably should have lubricated tbe ball bearings, but it worked fine without lube. Perhaps a little noisy, which probably could have been reduced with some grease, but didn't really matter for my application.I was concerned about the bad reviews that it didn't spin, or the ball bearings fell out.Looking at how it is constructed,, it is held together with a lip around the outside perimeter that is formed from the steel. I could easily see that being a problem if the lip is compressed too much, it wouldn't spin, or not enough the ball bearings would fall out. Mine was perfect though. I suspect that the people who had problems could adjust the lip a bit to solve their problem if they had some basic mechanics or metalworking skills. I would agree that things should work properly as supplied, But if you want to save money, sometimes you have to take a chance and be willing to put up with a little aggravation. But it looks like I was in the majority of people who didn't seem to have a problem!

Won't spin, came in rusty has very sharp edge"
came in rusty and almost impossible to rotate. after lots of DW40 multiple spins (and one nasty cut on my fingure from the sharp edge" got it to move. Hard to install since there is only one hole to align the top side to the bottom side. Will look for other vendors for my next one.
