Orbi WiFi System (RBK43) AC2200 (Renewed)

Works great and improved house wifi a lot (2,500 sf two story house). The Orbi app could be improved and could have better features to allow multiple 'admin' users and multiple homes.

Your Wi-Fi Network name cannot contain a SPACE or the app will not detect the devices connected to the network. Changing the Wi-Fi setup on over 50 devices was brutal.

Junk it is a 3 1/2 months old. He orbi speed test shows 115 msps my internet provider speed test is 17 msps. WiFi devices are slow. Orbi will not give tech support after 90 days.

Orbi in itself is a great system. One of the original leaders into the mesh WiFi arena. So they’re withstanding of technology and programmers that like to hack. Netgear did well to keep their scientist. Not much in ability to broadcast separate 5 & 2.4 ghz signals. So if you’re trying to set up a smart home be prepared to be disappointed. But… Here’s a secret… Try to run only the Orbi router (without satellite(s)) from a room that has a lot of objects to shield smart home devices from grabbing the strong signal. (I set up my Orbi router next to the AT&T router-gateway. Once set up, I went well across the house, opposite side, to set up all the new smart home devices. With the distance and plenty of doors closed I picked up only the 2.4 GHz with no problem) I did get the renewed one set. Mine drop signal every now and then but it could be just my set. Orbis don’t tend to be finicky or picky. However You definitely need a little know how or a lot of patience to set up, especially if you have AT&T for your ISP.

It boosted all my signal, I know longer needed extenders in certain places in my house. I have a 3000sf house and it does the upstairs, downstairs, garage and even upstairs to the end of my backyard.
