Kinivo K300 Premium 3-Port High Speed 4K HDMI Switch with IR Wireless Remote and AC Power Adapter - Supports Resolutions up to 4K UltraHD & 3D

I have an older Sony LCD TV that only has 1 HDMI input. I recently purchased a Fire TV and a Nvidia Shield TV to accompany my existing Apple TV. This 3-port switch was perfect for my needs and also was (in my opinion) the best looking option.Having purchased cables from Blue Rigger in the past, I knew I could trust their quality and customer service. If you email them, they will respond same day.The build quality appears to be very high quality and the the green accents match the HDMI cables I purchased from Mediabridge. The remote is certainly no Harmony, but it gets the job done.I am experiencing issues when first powering on, which I addressed with BlueRigger. Since the aforementioned devices never actually turn off, they only go to sleep, the Kinivo is unable to detect when a device is powered on. This also means I cannot take advantage of the smart-switching feature.Let's say I was previously watching Apple TV on Port 1. I turned off the Kinvo, turned off the TV, and let the Apple TV go to sleep. The next day, I turn on the TV, turn on the Kinivo, and wake up the Apple TV. I just get a black screen. The workaround is to toggle to Port 2 then back to Port 1 and it will magically work. Because of this minor inconvenience, I cannot give the product a perfect 5-star rating.Other than that, this is a great device. I was able to fit all 3 streaming devices side by side using 1 ft cables, which made a very clean looking install.

I decided to go with Kinivo for a HDMI port to change between my PC and my PS4 using the same monitor. While my current monitor is not 4k, why not purchase something that supports a future hardware upgrade right? Anyways, I was hesitant to purchase this model ( Kinivo K300 Premium 3-Port High Speed 4K HDMI Switch with IR Wireless Remote and AC Power Adapter - Supports Resolutions up to 4K UltraHD & 3D ) as it didn't have nearly as high rated or # of reviews as the older model Kinivo but thinking "latest is greatest" and checking Kinivo's website for their product offerings, I went ahead with the purchase.Now for the bad part: With having the unit for several days now, it does what it is supposed to do.... eventually. My PC is plugged into the first port with my PS4 plugged into the second. I'm a big fan of the auto-detect as my computer is always on and the port automatically going to the PS4 once activated is a nice convenience... HOWEVER... toggling between the two inputs can take an unwarranted amount of time for the switch to recognize the video signal. In toggling between input 1 and input 2, it's upwards of a 3 min delay between the toggle and when the new input actually displays... a huge point of frustration. Ideally, I'd be able to game on the PS4, toggle back to my desktop to perhaps look something up in Chrome or exchange some conversation with a friend via Steam, and then toggle back to PS4 seamlessly... not with this product (unless I want to spend ~10 min doing it).Not sure if anyone else has run into this issue, if this is par for the course with this item, or I just lucked out with a bad device but not happy with the purchase and if I could have a do over, would likely go with a different brand/product :(

I bought this a few days ago and it works perfectly as expected. The front of the unit has a total of 5 LED status indicators (1 for power, 3 for the inputs, and 1 for the output) and an easy to access button to toggle among the different inputs. The status indicator LEDs are red when inactive or off and blue when active or on. Living in a studio, I'm always concerned about annoying blinking or overly-bright lights. These are not a problem as they are not bright enough to light up the room at night and will not blink.I have a monitor connected to the output, and am using 2 inputs, a laptop and Xbox One. I normally have my laptop connected to the switch about 90% of the time. If I turn on my Xbox One, it will automatically switch to that input (with both inputs active). This makes sense to me - to always switch to the most recently turned-on input. One thing that pleasantly surprised me is that even with all my inputs on, you can actually toggle to a state where all the inputs are disabled. This is convenient if you want 1 or more of your inputs on, but don't want the display on for some reason (maybe going to sleep?). I haven't used the remote yet and don't plan to as I'm usually sitting within 6 feet of the device and it's easy enough to use the button on the device itself. Great product.

UPDATE 11/6/2015: Kinivo support responded quickly, and after assuring them I did basic troubleshooting, they got me a new unit sent out and in my hands in 2 days (basically Prime shipping). New unit works great, and I'm sending the malfunctioning unit back to them for analysis (they provided a shipping label). I'm quite happy, and hopefully whatever is wrong will help them prevent the issue for others in the future. =)ORIGINAL: Just purchased to switch my PS4 and PS3. PS4 seems to work just fine. PS3, in all inputs, just shows "No Signal". Switcher switches successfully to see the input, but for some reason, doesn't like the switcher. PS3 into TV directly works great. Different cables, etc, all the same result.I've contacted Kinivo's support, so we'll see what they say, but right now, given other review here saying the same thing, I'm thinking they need to tell people that these don't work with PS3's. If anyone knows one that does work, please let me/us know!

Original order - device defective- contacted teh seller and they immediately dispatched another one and it works fine.. Nice little device

Within 2 days of receiving the 1st switcher it developed a fault. After chatting online to one of Kinivo's customer services team a new one was dispatched and works perfectly. 5 stars is as much for customer service as it is for the product.

Easy to set up and use. In short excellent product.

Works great. Looks cool also. No issues of HDMI switching in the middle of something.

Does exactly what it says on the tin
