"Fish Bone Knotless Gear Tie": is a heavy duty no-knots cord tightener made in Aluminum, Stainless Steel, & Titanium. Designed for paracord but works great with all types of cord and rope. This is a brand new product that is made entirely in the USA. Fish Bone Knotless Gear Tie is perfect for outdoors, camping, hiking, boating, military, etc. but is also handy for home use or the occasional trip to the hardware store. Paracord (also parachutecord or 550 cord) is a lightweight nylon cord originally used in the suspension lines of US parachutes during World War II. Once in the field, paratroopers found this cord useful for many other tasks. It has an interior core made up of 7 individually twisted strands covered by a woven exterior sheath. It is now used as a general purpose utility cord by both military personnel and civilians. This versatile cord was even used by astronauts during STS-82, the twenty-second Space Shuttle mission, to repair the Hubble Space Telescope! While the U.S. military has no overall diameter requirements in its specifications, in the field 550 cord typically measures 5/32 inches (4mm) in diameter. It can be found in several colors schemes. When the inner strands are removed from the woven exterior the individual strands can be used as accessory cord or the outer sheath as a tubular webbing. The all-nylon construction makes paracord fairly elastic; depending on the application this can be either an asset or a disadvantage. When it comes to untying stubborn knots itÆs a definitely a disadvantage. The FishboneÆs were designed and developed specifically with this versatile cord in mind (and yes, theyÆll work even if itÆs not paracord). Bones N Biner: Each kit includes the specified Fishbone Knotless Gear Tie, Fishbone was & is designed and manufactured in the U.S.A., The #7 70MM Random Colored Carabiner is imported

they just work better and easier
Kinda confusing to use. I would rate much higher if I didn't later find the Nite Ize gear ties...they just work better and easier. I adore this product, the fishbone, but it is way more work that I'm willing to do on an average camping trip....plus it takes me ages to train my wife or friends how to use. The nite ize 9 biner just works easy and even has instructions printed on it for newbies. Fishbone has it's place for strength in hammocks, but for quick gear tie-down, it is just too much. I could probably learn a few knots that are easier to remember than the fishbone methods
