One Thousand Gifts Devotional: Reflections on Finding Everyday Graces [Voskamp, Ann] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. One Thousand Gifts Devotional: Reflections on Finding Everyday Graces Review: Naming your blessings one by one! - This is an amazing book. When you focus on making a list of 1000 blessings, it changes your perspective, your thankfulness to God, and you realize how much we have to be thankful for each day. We often sing “count your blessings name them one by one.”, but this teaches you the discipline to actually do it. Review: Waiting to start fresh on January 1, 2013 - I have looked at this online with the preview, but have not actually used it yet. I give it five stars because I already know that the author puts out top-notch material. From the preview alone, I know it will be a treat to journal my thoughts and reflections in this new format instead of just a plain notebook or blank journal. Having Ann's writings there as well is such a treasure chest of wisdom and blessing to explore. Ann's words are so warm, and touching, always ushering me into God's presence. One great feature among several is the space in the back to record the first 1000 gifts for which you are thankful. I have started my list several times in different places, and look forward to beginning fresh and have the space to write not only my thoughts and meditations regarding holy, sacred things, but to record my thanksgiving in the same book. Highly recommended. For more from Ann Voskamp, check out her incredibly inspiring blog.....[...] You will be encouraged and blessed.

Love this book
I've subscribed to Ann's blog, A Holy Experience, for over a year now & I've thought so many times, "She should write a devotional." I save all her blog entries because they are so packed full of wisdom from Heaven that I want to remember, to re-read, to write on my heart...of course I rarely go back. But she keeps writing and I keep being moved & challenged & relieved that God's love is so true and so enough. As soon as I saw Ann had published a devotional, I signed up for the pre-buy. And I am SO THANKFUL for it! It's exactly what I was hoping for. I also really like the journal space after each entry and the 1000 gift count space at the end of the book. Ann Voskamp is a transparent, real, gritty, tender, hungry, beautiful, natural writer whom, I believe with all my heart, reflects the very heart of God & His immense grace towards us.

This is a great devotional book!
If you have read her book, this is a great companion devotional to follow up. Each topic is about 2-3 pages long with room to write down 1000 things you are thankful for! I have really enjoyed it!

If you want the key to walking close to God read and re-read this debotional.
This is the most excellent devotional I have ever engaged with. Understand that it is written by a lady who writes a form of "prose-poetry" from her heart!. She has great insight in how to walk with God and know His joy through her own very traumatic and difficult times...and how to walk with Him through the ups and downs of everyday life. If you want to know how to live a joyful life very close to God, read and re-read this devotional every day. She has inspiring wisdom that will eventually touch upon your life...whether you have been, or are going through very difficult life challenges, or dealing with the daily grind. This book is not just for women! As an "older American" ex-military man I have discovered a book I read every day and will continue to do so.

A Lifetime Gift
Originally I borrowed Ann's book from the library, I had heard much about the book, both positive and negative, I decided I wanted the opportunity to read it myself. I flew through the pages, like a deer needing water, it brought life to my thirsty heart and soul. In a difficult marriage, with 2 kiddos whom I love, yet fight more than they get along, I have had difficulty finding joy. Through Ann's stories and honesty, I found peace and joy that I have not known in such a long time. My life isn't any "easier", but the gifts that my Savior provides me daily "pop" out at me in ways never before. I notice the difference in my life if I do not begin my day with counting and end my day with the same. I purchased the devotional for myself, as I don't own the book yet, and I was so pleased to find that each devotion is a tidbit from the book (so far anyways). Each day the prayer is beautiful and provides a section to write your own prayers and thoughts.....this is wonderful! I love that I can take a small bit of encouragement and inspiration, then think on it for the day before moving on! I also love that the devotional is hardcover and that there is a list for your first 1000 gifts, I am going to have to move them from my app to the book, as I think that is a wonderful part of the devotional! This truly is a lifetime gift to hold onto!

Lifechanging Read
This book is wonderful, and life changing. Ann Voskamp writes in a style that is simple, loving and kind. She helps to teach, spiritual principles. She teaches how to have a heart of thanksgiving, by listing over 1,000 gifts that God gives. It truly changed my heart into being more mindful of God's gifts in my life, and to be thankful. I have bought several copies for friends and relatives it is that good!

Love 1000 gifts!
I absolutely love 1000 gifts and Ann Voskamp. I have read her book 3 times and plan to read it again. I ordered two of the devotionals as well as the DVD and study guide for my daughter and I to do together. I was a little disappointed in the journal as far as the length. Would love to have it be more of a year format, but my daughter loved it and plans to use it for her daily devotional. Overall, I think it is beautiful and I love the fact that it has the place in the back for numbering your gifts. Probably would have used it if I had not already started another journal just for counting my gifts. Mrs. Voskamp is truly a gift from God! I so enjoy her transparency with her readers and hearing of her daily life makes me smile, laugh out loud, and sometimes cry. I have given several of her books as gifts and plan to give even more!

One of my all-time favorite devotionals. I've read it three times over the last several years and given it as a gift many times.

Treated myself to this having found in the original book a kindred spirit. Began listing my own thousand blessings on April 12th, up to 490 already. This is despite the recent death of my husband, financial challenges, caring for a child with a life-threatening diagnosis, and the need to regain my own health after serious illness. I thoroughly recommend it to mindfully dwell on the good and positive, instead of being overwhelmed by the negatives. An aid to faith and hope, in an attractive package.

The devotional thoughts are written with poetic licence, which takes a little time to get used to. That being said, this style gives a freshness and depth to the author's thought. The author has lived what she shares, which makes it powerful. This book reminds us of the abundant life and how to enjoy it.
