Systematic Word Study for Grades 2–3: An Easy Weekly Routine for Teaching Hundreds of New Words to Develop Strong Readers, Writers, and Spellers

I used this curriculum all this year in 2nd grade. I liked it and, even more importantly, the kids liked it. What a great, easy way to get a daily dose of grammar, spelling, vocabulary and etymology. The kids respond enthusiastically because it's game based. Easy to implement, easy to maintain all year long especially since this replaced weekly spelling tests which I'm convinced was a way better use of classroom time.

Using this with my third graders. The best part is you can do whatever meets your needs. Currently, I only use two of the 5 activities with my class on a weekly basis. They love it and it is helping them to develop vocabulary. Much better choice than looking up definitions in a dictionary!!

I thought it had the disk that comes with it.

Nice book with solid lessons. I wish it had more color, images, and student examples, but all in all a good book.

I have been teaching first grade for eight years and this is a wonderful systematic approach to word study. I use the 1st grade level for the majority of my students and this book of lessons I use for my 1st grade enrichment students.

I love this book! I completed the third week and am so impressed with the skills that are included. I find that every level of student is learning something and thinking on their own. They are finally able to manipulate the letters to create all different types of words. They enjoy it and it is fun for me to see how fast they catch on. I HIGHLY recommend this book.

This is a very time efficient way to cover a myriad of skills. Only 8 words per week and a lot of flexibility in each of the 5 activities. I would highly recommend it.
