I'm not going to lie, when I was researching this watch it was hard to find reviews on it. Later on I found out they were difficult to find because Luminox discontinued the watch as of 2016 so they weren't on the market for very long. With the photos I did find online, I wasn't sure about the grid pattern on the face of the watch.This watch is gorgeous! The grid pattern adds style and depth to the watch and I couldn't be happier about my purchase. For lack of a better term, it looks badass. I removed the black leather strap that it came with and purchased a NATO brown leather strap. It wasn't that the luminox strap was uncomfortable, I just wanted a brown leather strap to make it look more modern and casual.The fact that it has a stainless steel casing, sapphire face, and beautiful design makes this watch top notch and durable. The Luminox 3550 series is plastic and has a mineral face(not as scratch resistant as sapphire) and it retails through Luminox for close to $400. I bought this modern mariner for less than 300 and it's a far better choice as far as the build is concerned. The 6251 bo retails at $775 on the Luminox website, so less than $300 was a steal!I hope this review finds researchers well, as I researched Luminox for a solid month before deciding on this timepiece. Look into it, it's amazing.

I bought this for my son who is currently serving in the US Navy. He needed a durable watch that wasn't flashy. I have owned several Luminox products and have been mostly happy. After setting the time, he went about wearing it. About 2 hours later, he showed it to his brother and saw the clock was 1 1/4 hours behind with the second hand not advancing. I looked at the watch and reset the time. I noticed that the watch hands will still move even after the crown is fully locked down. This should not be happening. Going to go through the warranty process with the included warranty card. I hope that this is resolved quickly. I will update once it gets sent out and hopefully, quickly repaired and returned.

So far so good. I own a Luminox 3000 series that could not keep time. If I leave it on the dresser and not wear it, it will keep time for months. The 6200 series has kept pretty good time with daily wear for six months now. It is heavier than the plastic watches, but has a screw down crown and a sapphire crystal. The lume is also a fair amount brighter than the 3000 series. So far so good.

This is one tough looking watch! I have been looking at Luminox watches for years. When I saw this one as a lightning deal I had to pounce. The watch is beautifully made. The color is deep and uniform with a nice matt finish that has just a touch of shine. Being a PVD coating, it should be quite durable. I love the tritium dial. This is the feature that Luminox is best known for and it works very well. I have been frustrated by the quick fade of typical luminous dials. That won't be a problem with THIS watch, or at least not for about twenty years. The tritium vials are all a cool blue/green color with the exception of the vial at the 12 o'clock position. That one is orange so you can orient the watch, even in total darkness!I like the spherical back, the build quality and the fact that this watch has a sapphire crystal. I am also pleased that (on my watch at least) the second hand lines up perfectly with the minute marks (a pet peeve of mine when they do not). I also really like the band. It is handsome and nicely padded. It feels quite substantial without being heavy.One previous reviewer faulted the warranty. I have not had to use any warranty (yet), but I would print and keep a copy of the warranty info off of the product description. The Amazon warranty is different (and superior) to the third party warranty paperwork that comes in the box, which covers only the movement.The only thing that would make this watch better would be if it had a titanium case (lighter weight) and if the crown were at 4 o'clock rather than 3. I do not understand why this feature is so hard to find. I hate having a callus on my wrist.

Although this watch looks much darker in person than the photo, it's beautiful. You definitely can't see the detail of the face as it all blends. If you are looking for a black watch it's the one. The leather band is very nice and makes the watch look more expensive. I thought it would light up a bit more in the dark. It's still worth the money.

My best watch ever, very striking watch. Had trouble with the order with a banking failure then finally purchasing the watch arrived in good time but followed by another. Have made contact with Amazon & thing are in process to rectify. All good so far. Will update in the weeks ahead. Regs john.

A superb timepiece that has the heft in weight, a sapphire crystal dial cover, luminous hour markers and hour/minute hands and a sturdy leather band for just over $200.......its a tremendous value

Great watch for the price.
