A Survey of Mathematics with Applications (9th Edition)

First let me say that I am not a math major. I purchased this book because the textbook that is required for the liberal arts math course I am enrolled in does not go into enough detail on how to work out the problems. I once took an algebra class that required a textbook by author Allen R. Angel --- and I recalled that the way the book was written made it very easy to understand the equations. I correctly assumed that A Survey of Mathematics would be as equally helpful since Angel is one of the co-authors of the book---- and I was correct! This book is excellent because it explains the concepts in an easy-to-understand language as well going into step by step detail on how to work out the problems. I highly recommend it!

This textbook was delivered in excellent condition.

I thought this book was very helpful and informative for the math that I was reviewing, however, I felt that the book should have given more complicated examples that are used on tests such as the ACT, SAT, etc. This would help students achieve a better insight on how to do mathematical problems in different ways.

Whomever put a white hardcover on a textbook wasn't thinking about the abuse textbooks take. But this book still looks terrific and the pages are still top quality. I can tell it's been gently used, but taken care of. I appreciate the quality.

There was nothing wrong with this product was delivered and opened. All the pages were present and there was no writing on the pages.

If I can give this no stars I will. The book came to me broken, it looks like someone was chewing on it and was missing the code I needed. It was definitely not a good purchase.

I had to get this math book for my MAT142 class. According to my math teacher this edition is not much different from the previous edition. The page numbers are different and there are only a small number of differences in the problems between the eighth edition and ninth edition. I would recommend you buy the eighth edition since it will probably be much more cheaper.
