Polymer Chemistry: An Introduction

This book was published in 1999, but contains excellent and fairly up-to-date information on the principles and practice of polymer synthesis, molecular weight determination, chemical and physical properties of polymers, thermal methods, and other analytical methods. In the largest sections, it details the syntheses of "vinyl" and "non-vinyl" polymers. Examples of information that can and cannot be found include light scattering but not DLS and most chain-growth polymers but not PEX or KELF. On the other hand, this useful book is full of well-organized information that would afford any reader a very good knowledge of this important field. Figures are clear and plentiful, but are "flat" and not stereochemical. The text is well written, clear, and understandable.

This is one of most well written chemistry books I have had the pleasure of using. I enjoyed the class and book so much that I ended up keeping the book after graduation even though I don't work with polymers at work.

This textbook is an elementary one foucsing on undergraduate study. So if you have already had background in polymer chemistry, this book might be easy for you. All in all, this is a helpful book to take you into the polymer world!

Book has great information in it, but you really have to dig for understanding. It is very wordy and doesn't break things down into sections enough.

As a chemistry undergraduate this book was useful in my transition to studying polymer engineering. The text has alot of organic chemistry material in it and bridges over to some of the engineering concepts.

Perfect condition!

This is a good Polymer Chemistry Textbook. It is very informative. However, it isn't the most exciting read. The book is completely black and white, making it hard to read for extended periods of time. I would recommend this textbook for the quality of it's information.

un poco sucio, pero en buen estado

高分子化学の教科書の典型という感じはするが、化学的な切り口からだけではなく、工業的な背景にも配慮しているのが分かる｡日本語の教科書に比べ、絵や図を多用しているのは他の洋書の教科書とあまり変わらない｡高分子の勉強だけでなく、英語の読解力も身に付き、一挙両得｡
