Feels very solid.
So, yet to use it to actually wash anything. It’s currently running the ‘self calibration’ routine. It seems/feels very solid and well built - it’s freaking heavy, so clearly not made of paper thin materials that will not last.Compared to the machine it replaces it is incredibly quiet. No motor noises, just water sloshing about sounds. I think I might actually be able to watch the TV with it on, rather than turn it on then go to work, like I had to with the old one - sounded like I had a helicopter in the room. We will see what the spin sounds like in a bit.I like the big loading door. My old machine had a small door, and putting a full-sized towel in was a bit of an effort. The instructions are clear, and seem to have been written by someone who actually speaks English. The delayed start function will probably prove useful. I can load it up, and set it to run later if needed. It ships with an outlet hose, and a braided stainless steel cold water inlet. It does not have a hot water inlet. Also included is a one-way valve for the water inlet. Why it needs one is beyond me, the machine is not pressurised, and the water inlet is above the water level, so the only way water in the machine could get into the pipe is if gravity was reversed.I am happy with it. If it lives up to the manufacturer promise of ‘testsed for 20 years use’ it will outlast me.Ok, so having actually used it. It’s almost silent even on full spin. The only noise it makes when washing is a sloshing noise. No motor noises at all. The first time I turned it on I thought I had not closed the door properly. Went to see why nothing was happening, and it was washing away with subdued sloshing noises. The clothes come out nicely clean and well spun-dry. Not dry, obviously, just a bit dampSome mention or complain about the length of time some of the cycles last, but as my old machine was so loud (I used to turn it on then go to work) I have no idea how long it used to run for. By the time I got home from work it was done, so I have no clue if it used to take 4 hours or 45 minutes. To me the just over 2 hours for the ECO cycle is acceptable. As for the full speed spin not being available on all cycles, this makes perfect sense to me: do you want maximum spin speed on the equivalent of the ‘delegates’ cycle? Hardly ‘delicate’ treatment to spin at maximum speed is it?

Quality German engineered machine.
First ever Mièle product.Bought it even though dearer than the competition. One of the best decision I made. The quality shows from the moment you open the door and how it opens etc.Turn the dial settings knob and once again the quality shows up.Best of all is the lack of noise.First time we used it, had to keep checking every few mins to see if it's was working, it's that quiet. No more washing machine that let's the neighbors know it's running. In fact even in my own home it's hard to tell it's working - apart from rinse cycles.Even then it's a lot quieter than expected.I only wish it makes a louder audible notice sound when it finishes. This would save me having to keep checking if it's complete.

Stylish, substantial, washes excellently
Stylish, substantial, washes excellently.Installation is easy, remove the "moving bolts" (2x) from the rear (it comes with a tool to remove them and a place to store them if you need them in the future). It is heavy (but that's an advantage - all the counterweighting is at the bottom of the machine so it is more 'settled' when spinning.Fittings fit the UK standard water connections. And then run a cleaning (empty drum) 60C wash. And it's ready after two hours of that deep cleanse.Easy to use digital display. No annoying bleeps or pips audio. The front window that cover the concaved=-glass is genius; no nooks for dust to lurk in. The smoothness of the the drum will ensure less damage to clothes. The end of cycle "anti-crease' tumble is ideal in case you forget to remove the items.Quiet. We had to go back into the kitchen to make sure it was working; it's that quiet. Even the 1400RPM spin is quiet. The key thing is: follow the instructions on LEVELLING the machine. Fiddly but essential to get the machine even/level.Overall, this machine and brand is the ultimate in reliability and will pay for itself over the estimated 20-years of 5 washes per week.

Nice machine but very noisy
I’ve had Miele before so was looking forward to my machine arriving. We removed the travel bolts and made sure it was level. It looked good. When we used it the noise was horrendous during the spin, it sounded like an aeroplane taking off. I thought maybe it was an odd load so tried again but it was still the same - I had to return the machine.

It does not Disapoint
Only had this machine a month and so far there is nothing to disappoint. One of the main features we needed because of space restraints was a hinge on the right hand side of the door which this year few machines have this year. A remarkably quiet machine even in the spin cycles. Its a cold fill only machine. If your space is limited you need to be careful in passing it as the controls are light and can switch on if you brush past. The only frustration was the long lead in time by Amazon. It was three weeks before it arrived right at the end of the time slot. The delivery people were exceptionally good and brought the machine as close as the could to the installation point. After that it is up to you to unpack and commission. Take note that they cannot take your old machine away. The instructions are good but these machines are heavy so you might need some extra muscle to handle it .

Faulty, but replaced in four days
The transit bars could not be removed and the drum weas loose. Amazon replaced the machine without quibble: claim filed Thursday, machine removed Monday, replacement arrived Tuesday. Excellent. Transit bars on the replacement came out easily. Miele support were totally useless: not prepared to acknowledge there could be a problem, offered a service call at £140 minimum, to be paid even if the machine was found to be faulty. Underwhelmed.

Built to last, washes well and quiet.
Superb machine, easy to use, washes well with a good choice of programmes. This was a good choice and I recommend it, it's built to last.
