If you are looking for something that can go through double 5/8" drywall, this is not it. Maximum ceiling thickness is about 5/8" without modifying the can.Quality is very similar to most lights of this type. We purchased sample cans from Lithonia, Halo and Juno. The Lithonia can LX7 costs much more and seemed to be a bit higher quality (not much) -- however the Lithonia can fit a 1-1/2" thick ceiling. Lithonia also has the L7R, (remodel installation) that will do 1-1/2" thick ceiling - it is really good to have both new construction and remodel types of fixture available.Most of the "air tight" cans use a metal foil tape to do the final sealing of the can. It might be possible to do so safely with this can, but good luck contacting the Halo people for support to find out. We tried several times to get through to a human using their phone system - no luck.

Not entirely to much to say. Its a can. Pretty easy install. all you need is a hammer to place on studs. My Ceiling joists are 16" on center and the holes were cut all the way to one side of the joist cavity. Dumb. Used every inch of the adjustable mounting arms to reach the other side but it did. Not to the fault of the housing butiI'm glad there's plenty of adjustment. Spent maybe 15min in the attic installing can and wiring it in. Super simple. Used in my showers conjunction with a RGB LED light with built in Bluetooth speaker and a wet loctaion Fresnel lens trim kit. Works beautifully.

I purchased 4 of these lamps for our kitchen. Even though they are meant for new construction, I was able to install them in my home without issues. They come with "quickconnect" connectors inside the junction box, which is very handy. You will need a hole saw that makes 6 3/8" holes so that they can fit. My only complaint and the reason I gave these 4 stars is that they sheet metal edges are razor sharp. So sharp that at times you don't even realize you cut yourself until you see the blood. Handle with care. Outside of that, they work great. Put some LED's and working fine.

Works as expected. Normally I buy it locally but was shopping for other products for this project online on ordered it through amazon. Shipped quick and in good shape. If anyone wonders, It works well in drop ceiling grids as well as standard new construction.

Its a can light, I am an electrician.... nothing unusual about this product. It was easy to install and worked great for me.

Great product, great value, and is a great addition to my home. I can't wait until we get these all installed. We purchased these, and then some led replacement bulbs that screw right in. Easy to install, has a great joint box which is a lot safer and preferable over having to install other ways. I'm thinking of getting more for other parts of my house.

been using these for years, only issue i have with these is that to install properly you have to put in the adjacent ceiling tile to clamp the strut to the track, it is nearly impossible to install the tiles after the can in connected to the track

Good product. Connectors are easy to work with. Construction is solid material. I would definitely buy again. I bought used. One of the housings was dented (I knew prior to purchase) even though it was dented pretty good, the housing still works great. Fully adjustable width, depth, and hanging options.
