Nice Poles
Excellent value. I took them snowshoeing several times this winter, which including some rough and uneven terrain. Worked well.

I have not used these yet but the rings that fit on the bottoms are made of light plastic so I don't know how well they will hold up.

Don't bother - these are junk.
Used once for a one mile snowshoe trek, baskets fell off after 2 minutes - tried resecuring them but they just wouldn't stay on. After collapsing them after first use, the mechanism to telescope them back to usable height won't stay secured. Don't bother with these, they are junk.

Functional, but not very durable
First, the pros: these poles are pretty light, with nice grippy tips and wide baskets. The lockjaw mechanism is reliable and adjustable (the latter allows the former - any slippage can be solved by just tightening the mechanism at your preferred length). I've used them as ski and trekking poles in both summer and winter. Now, the big con: the metal on these is not very durable, especially on the extension (lower half) of the poles. They dent and bend very easily, and when they dent or bend you can no longer collapse them fully. After a few trips in the summer and the winter, my poles are now dented enough that one of them can't go shorter than 110 cm. It's not like I've abused them - I don't even toss them down rocky bits of trail (as is standard practice with trekking poles while downhilling). It's not the end of the world, but definitely drops their versatility a lot (why have collapsible poles if they don't collapse?). Hence the three stars.

Great poles for the price
Going strong for 2 years. I love the adjustability and the lightweight nature of these trekking poles. I use them year-round, from summer hikes to winter snowshoeing treks. I'm an Atlas fan, and will continue to purchase their gear.

Defective lockjaw mechanism on one of the poles
These seem like perfectly good poles, except the lockjaw mechanism on one of the poles I purchased thru Amazon would not close and lock. Comparing the mechanisms on the two poles, the pin inside the non-working mechanism appeared to be misaligned (was it a manufacturing defect, or damage during shipping? I could not tell). I'm returning these poles, kudos to Amazon for their excellent return policy. I went to REI and bought these same poles for a few dollars more ... and of course I checked to make sure the lockjaw mechanisms works on both poles. :) My point being, you might be better off purchasing these in-person rather than via mail order.

Good quality snowshoeing or hiking poles
These poles are sturdy, with an easy-to-use clamping system that locks the poles firmly. I use them for snowshoeing because they have large baskets.
