A great Handbook!
This is a very nice technical book explaining all about forced induction using turbo. It covers every single element of the turbo charger, explained with high resolution photos and understandable language. As an addition the book shows how to rebuild failed turbo charger in great detail and also guiding you in choosing the right intercooler(aftercooler), Blow Off Valve, Waste Gate, Boost controller even which clamps are better in order to build the most reliable setup. If you are the guy who is considering a turbo project, this nicely styled book will guide you all the way down to the first ear to ear smile driving your car ON BOOST!Do not hesitate - it is a GREAT BOOK - just do it ;) WOSHSHSHSHSH

Much Knowledge in these pages A+
Awesome book with great information and knowledge. Going to use it as a reference putting twin turbos on my 99 Stang; making it a Corvette slasher!

It goes into detail about every part of the turbo ...
It goes into detail about every part of the turbo, it's purpose, how variations of parts/turbines affect performance, lag etc. It also has dynos for many turbos and maps their optimal CFM and has troubleshooting in the back. Extremely informative, even for me with many years of car repair/modification.

A good insight into realistic turbo charging.
Offering both a good explanation into turbo nomenclature and design as well as correct application usage, "Turbo: Real-World High-Performance Turbocharger Systems" delivered in getting the base concepts across. Turbocharger aspects are broken down in a way that makes fine tuning for a particular application easier as well as giving some very enlightening charts on boost characteristics for many real world turbochargers from many of the biggest names. The trouble is finding these charts else where besides the book which makes the book even more of a guideline than a manual for what to purchase. The other problem is the lack of the severe depth I was hoping to see into multi-stage turbo's and variable geometry turbochargers that are gaining ground. What was nice was the wide range of applications that were addressed, a reasonable guide to tuning for an EFI system and a breakdown on turbo failures and what to watch out for when turbocharging a NA vehicle. Overall, a great book for an amateur but not the most ideal for a true do it yourself turbo install.

great buy!
The book explains how to determine the best turbo for the application. Addresses the needs of converting a turbo car, but the installation itself ... It is the only flaw of the book for me was the location of the oil lines and pressure should have? and such details. But overall it was worth buying.

Good intro into the world of turbochargers
I enjoyed reading the book, it gave me the insight into turbochargers I was looking for. Selecting a turbo is a compromise between many factors, which I felt the book covered in good detail. How and why turbos fail was also interesting.
