There is bounce to the ounce...just let it breathe a while...be patient !
It took almost a month for the mattress to take it's original shape...must have been compressed for quite a while before I bought it. I applied it to a vintage day bed whose original mattress was like concrete ! It works fine and I covered it with soft fabric to use in my guest room..was really surprised when it finally retained it's bounce ...be patient...it may take a while to feel like an honest to goodness mattress !

Never buy or use inflatable mattresses again. A much better sleep. It did take a day to sir out and open completely.

No one reads the 2 star reviews.. i bought a millard foam folding mattress and it was awesome, they dont make this size or shape so i decided to try this for a project in an rv. i saw the images of the foam that didnt rize but thought it was some outliners not the avrage product. now that i have mine i can see that it is the quality of the foam not some bad sample. this stuff sucks. i dont evin know what to do with it. and it is not confortable as a couch, in fact it is not big enough for an adult to sit on, total width of sitting area as a couch is about 12" its less than it sounds typical couches have 2+ feet i wish i had a spec sheet before i purchased it.here are the dimentions 4'4" by 6'8" unfolded. two smaller segments are 2' combined leaving 2'4" each on larger segments.when folded as a couch the couch top is 4'4" by 12" and the top edge is roughly 10" it does not look cleanly taut but wrinkled and lopsided.good luck and just for the record millard 6" tri fold foam is awesome take a look at it and spend the extra money if it will work for you.

Bought this as a sofa for the kids and a mattress for guests. It's very comfortable and convenient to store. The kids love folding it out as a mattress while watching tv.

It is as comfortable as you might think for a 4" pad
Bought this after reading countless reviews on EVERY air mattress about leaks. It is as comfortable as you might think for a 4" pad, buffer between the ground but still stiff. Came vacuum sealed in a bag which is impossible to get back into (free duffel bag... yay...) which makes storage for this quite bulky.
