Says they are a 3" which means it should fit in a 3 1/8" hole. It requires a 3 3/8" hole.
The main reason I went with these is because of the 3" can size. I was replacing halogen cans in several display cases. The existing holes in the cabinets were 3 1/8" which is what a standard 3" can fits into. But because of the spring system that holds the can in place it required another 1/4" in diameter. The other option is to cut notches on either side so the body of the spring can fit through. That would have taken too much time and I opted for a 3 3/8" holesaw and a jig I made to center it in the 3 1/8" hole. Other than that the lights are very nice. The spring system makes an easy install. The LED driver is in a metal box that the 120vac connects into. The push in connection make for fast work. The connector from the driver to the LED lamp is easy and quick. I chose the 2700Kº temperature lamps so they would look like the halogens they were replacing. They seemed a bit brighter than the 50 watt halogens they were replacing. The LED eye can be swiveled to point them in the direction of your choosing, in my case it was just straight down. As long as they last it's a great lighting system

So happy we found these lights!
These are great! They are easy to install and it’s exactly what we needed for our master bathroom to finish our project. We were going to install the traditional can recessed lights but after cutting out three 3.125” holes in our ceiling, we realized there’s a pipe directly above one of the holes and we didn’t have enough room to fit the big bulky can. Measured how much room we have and found one on HD that will work but it was $50 each! Jumped on Amazon and here we are with same day shipping, they look amazing in our bathroom. The only thing we had to do is cut out a tiny chunk on the two sides of each hole for the spring clips to fit through. We ordered the warm white 3000k and it’s perfect for our tiny master bathroom. Saved some money and have three extra lights to use somewhere else, couldn’t be happier!

Instructions suck!
I'm happy overall with the lights but the instructions suck! They are as minimal as they could be. There is no template for the hole, there is no indication of the hole size (3 1/8 by the way, not an available hole saw size.). If I were putting them in drywall this would be easier but I'm not, they are going into 3/4 pine tongue and groove. There are no instructions on how to connect them together (a Youtube video solved that problem) and there isn't a list of what dimmers will work with these lights.

Looks great, works as expected
We had these lights installed (by an electrician) under a new canopy roof we had constructed. Instructions are minimal but our electrician had installed similar products before so it wasn't too much of a challenge for him. They are on a dimmer switch and we normally have them set about half way up on the dimmer so the brightness is fine for us. But, if you really want to light up the night, they may be a bit short. Wife loves the finish and we have them tilted a bit away from the house to minimize the glare on the windows.

Cute little lights!
My husband and I purchased these lights after a long search of trying to find something specific. These arrived in good condition, and they look very nice, we were both impressed with their appearance. They seemed well-built. We have not installed yet so I cannot speak to the functionality, but after installation which will be very soon, within a month, I will update my posting.

Easy to install.
Added pics. We installed in a 3" thick old wooden beam from a wood recovery project. This went about a new sink in a bathroom remodel. They look absolutely amazing! Have them on a dimmer switch, and they work perfectly!Just ordered another set to use down a 21 ft hallway.

Impressive quality
We have a screened in aluminum patio roof that attaches to the fascia of our house so we added 4 of these lights in the 3 foot wide soffit. They were easy to install since I removed the ventilated aluminum soffit first. The aluminum soffit is very flimsy so I added 3/8" OSB 12" wide by 3' for better backing. The springs are very strong on the lights so you need a rigid ceiling or backing to push them in or pull them out. We used #12 Romex for the install since the circuit we used has a 20 amp breaker. The stab connectors on the lights will accept that size wire with no problems. The lights were brighter than expected so I will replace the switch with a dimmer type. These lights and junction box are heavy duty so well worth the money.

Well worth the money!
Absolutely love them!... My electrician did an awesome job with the install and the lights exceeded my expectations. They have a premium look and feel, they are excellent for spot lights, pictures or reading!.. DEFINITELY recommend for the price!
