Creative Labs NOMAD MuVo 128 MB MP3 Player

The MUVO is for people who like to keep it simple. Simple design. Simple use. Simple file storage. Simple battery change. Good sound and 128MB effective data storage. I actually think it sounds great! If you want gadget buttons, flickering lights and advanced choices - go for something else. The MUVO just gets the work done. As for those who report problems I can only say; No problems here. Music please!

Love the size of the machine. They need to have more memory. It only holds a few songs. I want more memory!!!

My original review was unintentionally harsh. I wanted to explain that I did not read the description of product more closely. The product as it was described by seller works for its intended purpose which is to play MP3 formatted audios. If I had read the description more closely I would have known it was not a recorder and could not play Wav formats. I purchased the wrong product for what I intended to use it for.

I bought this MP3 player thinking that it would be convenient and also double as a hard disk to move files from home to work and vise versa. Since I have had the machine I have had to completely reformat it over a half dozen times (within 2 months). Currently it is not working at all. This machine has been extremely unreliable. Often I would go on a trip and it would simple not work- one then needs the CD and a computer to reformat the device before it can work again. and , after you reformat it, you have to re-install all the songs you had on there before. When it does work every time you shut it off and restart it you have to go from the beginning to get back to where you were. I thought small size and lack of features would mean hassle free use. Nothing is further from the truth. I am only upset now because I cannot find the receipt to return this junk. Please, do yourself a favor and get something else.

This is a great product while it works. It is compact, reliable, and easy to use (just drag your music files to the player as if it were a removable disk drive).But beware: it WILL fail. I had three and all failed completely within a year -- one within two months. Once your player fails you are pretty much out of luck. Creative support is almost non-existent; but if you can track it down you will have to pay $20 to have them "look at it" and ultimately nearly $80 to replace it. In this product's defense, it could be pointed out that many MP3 players have a limited lifetime (e.g. even the iPod's batteries run down within a couple years and are costly or impossible to replace) so it could be argued that product failure is not in itself a reason to avoid this product (that's why it doesn't get just one star). But the MuVo just doesn't last long enough to be worth the price: two months of 128 Mb of music for $90 (or 64 Mb for $80) just doesn't compare with a year or more of many gigabytes for a couple hundred (even the overpriced Porsche of players, the iPod mini can he had for $250).

ok product. Did last very long but it was worth the money you pay for. I used it for running.

As of 2011-06-08 this item costs $50 and holds 128MB.Other $50 players hold 16x the music, 4GB.This should cost $5, maybe $10.I am still using one of these I bought in 2003...for $110.This product is an artifact. It's like finding a brand new Pentium II running XP for sale.I'm almost tempted to buy one just to see if it's really possible to STILL purchase this new.
