It will keep you watching with some intrigue, you’ll have to watch it to the end, which is no hardship because it feels shorter than it is, which is always a sign of a good film … Eddie Izzard’s performance was spellbinding… probably deserves a 4.5 out of 5 definitely worth a watch. I seldom bother to do reviews but thought it deserved one!

We watch this every Christmas. It is a film that went largely unnoticed but is a heartwarming and emotional tale that has strong performances.Worth a go!

A great story line with very good actors,a must see film any time of the year no just at Christmas.

The fuzzy picture quality of this Christmas favourite spoils the DVD. It looks as if it was taken from a VHS copy of the TV transmission. However it's worth having as the only print available.

This delightful and moving family film is a minor masterpiece. My only caveat was the never-ending music score that underlies the entire movie. Still, great performances and a terrifically clever plot makes for a truly memorable film.

Loved the unusual storyline. Acting and story were excellent. All different tales and characters linked very cleverly.

Bought this for did not see it when it was originally broadcasted.Since Christmas film, really, wanted something new to watch from the usual affairs that I have on DVD.It is called a modern fairy tale and it is certainly that.I will not say much as not to spoil it for anyone anting to buy it but can highly recommend it, in fact after watching it bought another copy for my sister.Eddie Izzard is fantastic as the mysterious stranger that seems to know everything about everyone just by touching thier hands.Great cast, great film, great story.
