Saved me from road rash.
Bought these for electric skateboarding. I get up past 20mph so a fall will surely be bad. I traded off the extra protection of hard plastic pads for the comfort of these. I did have a crash at 22mph and glad i had these on. In a skatepark, id go for traditional plastic pads for sure. Dropping on elbows and knees directly needs that protection. But for the way i electric ride, falls are generally straight ahead and guarding against road rash is my priority. These did the trick. I crashed hard. But my elbows were without road rash. The padding was enough so they werent sore the next day. 2 thumbs up for saving my skin.

Nice moderate duty pad
Nice low profile elbow pad for moderate protection. This would minimize impact in most cases. I wouldn't want to use it to protect agains heavy impacts. I bought it because a bone spur has left my elbow very tender and just resting it on a table or non padded arm on a chair causes me pain. This pad eliminates that. Perfect for my needs

Tough but discrete enough for dance shows
I wear these as knee protection for dance and they have lasted me for over two years...I only bought them again because I lost one. Low profile enough to wear under dance costumes but tough enough the protect my knees from the floor work we do. I have worn them for multiple dance performance and highly recommend them.

McDavid Hexpad knee pad review
I used a pair of McDavid Hexpad knee pads for years and loved them but eventually the elastic wore and they wouldn't stay in place any more. I bought these to replace the old pair expecting them to be as good as the previous ones but they aren't. McDavid made changes to the design and these new pads are much shorter than the old pair. I don't see how these could be used for knee pads as they are too short to cover the entire knee especially when you bend you knee. I suppose that they might make good elbow pads but they certainly won't work as knee pads. It's too bad because they are fairly thin and comfortable but the new design just doesn't work for me. The sizing is off as was my old pair and I had to order 2 sizes up to fit properly.

For the price they are great. Used for a tough mudder and a super spartan as knee pads and they were great. Only ripped on some barbed wire. Medium was perfect for me. I'm 5' 2" 25 year old woman with a medium build. The small would have been too tight.

They are otherwise comfortable. You don't have to deal with velcro straps ...
this is a light weight impact elbow pad. I am using these for roller skating (not roller derby, just exercise/activity skating). I have to occasionally readjust them as they slide a little below elbow after an hour or so (perhaps because of sweat on arms). They are otherwise comfortable. You don't have to deal with velcro straps which tend to catch on clothing.I am hoping they will provide just enough protection from burns/scrapes/scratches to elbow that inevitably occur when you take a spill on a wooden rink floor (ouch)

Hard exterior.
Probably my fault, but I ordered these to replace an earlier pair. I actually use them to protect my elbow while I draw. I rest my joint on a table so the padding really helps. Unfortunately, these have a stiff shell exterior. While I'm sure they protect you well from bashing into a volleyball court, they were way too uncomfortable for my use. I tossed them in a drawer and took the loss. I'll look for pads from another company next time.

Buy One SizeSmaller
I really liked the pads when I received them. They were comfortable to wear and fit my elbows very well. However, after wearing them for a few days to maybe a week they started to stretch just enough to fall off when I straightened my arms. My recommendation would be to go one size smaller and, although snug at first, they may fit long term. Customer service was excellent. I returned the pads without a problem.

works great as an added level of protection
i wear this under my sweater when playing pickup hockey, works great as an added level of protection. I don't think it will last more than a couple serious impacts. The fabric is fairly thin and i could see it getting torn from future falls

Looks doesn't protect your elbows.
It looks nice but it's not good for any protection. And it falls apart, literally falls apart after few uses.
