Barbie and Ken as Arwen and Aragorn in The Lord of The Rings

The dolls are beautiful. The delivery was in in good time and the packaging was the best I've ever seen. If the dolls had been made of glass they would have arrived in good shape. I will certainly buy from these folks again as soon as I can. Thank You so much Keith & Deb.

How could anyone make Barbie Arwen and Aragorn dolls, that is wrong on so many levels!Tolkien did not write the Lord of the Rings to have dolls made out of his characters to be played with by 2 year olds who can not even start to grasp what the Lord of the Rings is about and the fact that Tolkien was a genius!People should not by this it is just offending! I mean honstly Barbie itself is just lame, but they don't have to bring in a brilliant film and book into their stupid toys made to amuse stupid 2 year olds!!!! Come on now honestly, I just can't believe they did that!!! Grrrrrr...

Like most people who grew up on Tolkien, I have longed for Aragorn and Arwen fashion dolls, and now eagerly await the other sets: Faramir and Eowyn, Beren and Luthien, and, of course, Gimli and Legolas. But I'm disappointed in the quality of the dolls' clothing. I expected them to be garbed in elven cloaks that had the hue and beauty of all things under the twilight of Lorien, but instead there's this velour stuff. (Or I assume it's velour. Like royal guard elite, below, I was unable to decipher the runes to open the package.)Overall these are less true-to-life than the other dolls in Mattel's Iconoclasm Series: The Mother Theresa Barbie and the Mahatma Ghandi Ken come to mind as exceptionally fine examples.

If I were a real hobbit, I'd think this set would be a perfectly fun "mathom" (trinket) to receive on my birthday - and proceed to give someone else on their birthday. I think the fact that Tolkien created the fun-loving race of hobbits is proof that he wouldn't have minded people having a bit of fun with his characters, and maybe there are some Barbie collectors out there who are Tolkien fans too, so why not make something especially for them? The one thing I wonder about - are Barbie/Arwen's ears pointed? Some customers might be disappointed if they aren't.

I'm a fan of LOTR movies and Barbie, so these dolls are definitely a must have for me. But I never knew that in order to get them I have to go through so much drama with custom and post office in my country. Anyway, it arrived safely.. at last.. there's a minor dent on the box but the seller already informed me and I don't really mind. The seller wrapped it carefully, using two boxes and buble wraps, thanks for that. The dolls are perfect, really resembles the characters. I love that aragorn has real hair (I mean not just plastic;;^^). So yup, both will be my cherished collection from now on..
