Heats up just fine. I still have serious difficulty sealing any kind of plastic sheeting with it. After about an hour of use, the handle snapped. I'm not sure if it's even worth trying to make a new one, as this thing hasn't done a single thing for me yet other than make bad smells and tiny marks on any plastic.Picture is also misleading, showing a wood-grain handle. Handle is in fact crappy bakelite plastic that has a TERRIBLE strain point between the handle, light and connection to the heater, and IT WILL BREAK THERE.You're better off using a blow-torch for your project, as it might actually do something and will cost a tenth as much.

As was stated by another reviewer, the handle is made from what appears to be a cheap, brittle plastic--not wood as the picture shows. It broke within the first ten minutes of use.The box the roller is shipped in appears to be too small, as well, and I am sure this does not help.I suggest that you do not purchase this, or if you do, plan to make a new handle.We will be returning it.
