Good product - not a toy
This air gun does not leak. I'm still on my first canister of CO2, so it does not get used much, but 8 months after loading it there was plenty of pressure. Technology has come a long way. It's used mostly for taking out varmints at close range, and a lot safer than a .22 (but still dangerous). This is not something you give to a kid, and the definition of "kid" is left to your discretion, I know many 40 year olds that act like they are 10. Check with your local police before buying this air gun to make sure you are not violating some insane law, and like all dangerous things make sure children cannot access the device not matter how smart they are. A BB gun can blind or kill under certain circumstances. Also be mindful of bounce-back from a hard target or a miss that hits one. This device can be a good vehicle for training youngsters in the proper handling and safety measures associated with firearms, and can be used for plinking or small target traps commonly sold for BB guns. With the proper precautions, BB's are often used indoors if you have the space (ie the basement) and can ensure that a missed target will not result in damage or a dangerous situation. The gun makes noise when it shoots, but not nearly as much as a firearm. IIts similar to the no-gunpowder .22's that you can buy which use only the primer to project the bullet. This is an excellent tool for dispatching the occasional rat or rattlesnake that decides to co-habit your garden. I find it to be pretty accurate at 25 feet.

CO2 pistol Review
I bought this gun as my first co2 pistol, hoping for something that would impress me. It did way more though! First thing i did after opening the package was take it out, figure out the co2, and shoot the thing. I started with a can, as that was the limit of my spring pistol i had. The reults blew me away! It was a full can of pepsi, and it exploded the damn thing, went through both sides, and bounced off my fence, coming back and hitting me. i was astonished. the FPs on this fine piece of equiptment is 495, which is the highest oon the entire amazon website. it uses 12 gram co2 powerlets, which can be bought cheaply on amazon also. It shoots .177 metal bbs, either copperheads or steel, whichever you have. I WOULD RECOMEND NOT SHOOTING ANIMALS, AS IT IS NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH FOR A HUMANE KILL.Pros:Shoots at an extremely high FPS for this kind of gunAmazingly accurate, you can hit anything ifYOU are accurate enoughhas a fake slide thing on top that you can cock back... does nothingbut i like the feel.Only plastic piece I can find on the ENTIRE gun is the grip, which slidesto reveal the co2 chamber, like most co2 pistols.Uses co2 VERY efficiently, but buy a bunch anywayCons: umm... nothing the only thing i can think of is that the grip slides away too easily but that can be solved with some tapeREMEMBER!!!! sorry i have to tell you this but this gun is not a toy or an airsoft gun!!!DONT shoot your friendsDONT shoot your dogDONT shoot your momDO have fun!!!!!!!!!!

Nice replica at a great price
Nice replica, but a bit heavy for my taste. As others have said the slide is annoyingly loose and considering it adds nothing why did they bother? I glued mine. Unlike others, my grip is snug - almost too snug. I'll take that as a good sign. A feature I really like is the composite grip. It truly looks and feels like wood. Nice touch. My only real complaint is the cartridge screw. I can't seem to get it turned fast enough to not lose gas. I'll see if I can get an allen set screw that will work. There are other aftermarket replacements for other pistols, maybe one will fit. So -1 star for the loose slide and the screw. Otherwise it's a joy to own and a lot of fun to shoot.Follow up: As stated the grip on my gun is very tight. But it does not slide straight back, it pivots up. Well back, then up. I thought, at first, this was a defect. But given the difficulty some have with the cartridge screw access, this may well be a feature as it moves the base of the grip well out of the way. If it's not a feature, it should be.

This replica is fun to shoot, but definitely not a precision "firearm."
This air gun replicates the Walther P-38 pistol and fires BBs only. It cannot be used for pellets. I was surprised to discover that the slide actually slides, although it has no function. Still it's neat! The magazine is rated for 18 BBs, but 19 can be loaded. I found that BBs tend to be ejected when the spring follower is released in the magazine unless one puts a finger over the top opening. BBs are loaded one at a time. With practice, I could pick up two, or sometimes three, at a time to speed the process. This mimicks how P-38s would be loaded one cartridge at a time, which only adds to the realism of the piece. As to accuracy, I haven't tried to fix the pistol in a bench rest to ascertain its true capability, therefore, my experience most probably reflects a combination of inherent inaccuracy compounded by my lack of shooting skill. In my case, the pistol tends to fire to the left of the aiming point. Vertical differences can depend on how much pressure is left in the CO2 cartridge. It's really fun to shoot and heavy enough to make one believe that it's the real thing. At two pounds or so, it might be troublesome for some to hold over the time required to discharge it.

Looks Good. Feels Good. But Needs Shims!
Received on time, well packaged.Appearance: The gun is metal and very heavy (good!). Out of the box it's flat black, but with some 'aging' applied it looks very nice indeed. The artificial wooden grips are surprising good, but the design allows them to slide off completely so they are loose and will get looser over time (not good). The slide (for show only, this is not a blowback pistol) moves well and adds some level or realism, but it's a loose fit, so the gun rattles if shaken. Carefully placed shims would help this pistol in more ways than one.Performance: I have only put a few rounds through it but velocity is not as high as expected and accuracy is poor... But there seems to be a lot of oil inside, so hopefully it will improve. All in all, a decent gun so far, and fair for the price.
