Supplements, DHA-500 with 250 EPA, Molecularly Distilled, Supports Brain Health*, 180 Softgels

This is a fantastic fish oil supplement. The high concentration of DHA (500mg) and EPA (250mg) per softgel means I don't have to take multiple pills a day

I took a lot of time to find a Trust worthy more inexpensive source of Fish Oil sourced from Mostly smaller fish/ less contaminations, Tuna is larger and included in blend, this is the best that I could find at a reasonable price from a Company I Trust to really test for contaminants, and in the USA, and with the higher levels of DHA versus EPA per capsule that I desired. Molecularly distilled and Enteric coated just add to the Value. Only found one other source I trust for my Fish Oil but with lower DHA levels, is a company out of Norway using all small fish and total Omega 3/capsule 1000 mg, use them both. Keep up the good work for "Now Foods"

This DHA supplement is a great option, especially if you’re looking to support brain and eye health. I like that it has a higher DHA content than most standard fish oils. The softgels are easy to swallow, and I haven’t experienced any fishy aftertaste, which is a big plus. NOW Foods is a brand I trust for purity and consistency. Great choice for daily omega-3 support.

These DHA vitamins are great for pregnant or nursing women! I took them while pregnant and just ordered another bottle now that I am nursing. These have no taste, are easy to swallow, and I've never noticed a fishy aftertaste. As stated on the bottle, "The natural fish oil concentrate used in this softgel is manufactured under strict quality control standards. It is tested to be free of potentially harmful levels of contaminants (i.e. Mercury, heavy metals, PCB's, dioxins, and other contaminants)." I had been taking Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA ( Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA - Unflavored - 180 Softgels ) early in my pregnancy but switched to these when I ran out. I will continue to purchase the NOW brand DHA from now on for a few reasons: - These are enteric-coated and odor-controlled so they are easier to swallow and do not have any odor to them (which was super helpful during early pregnancy when I was very sensitive to strong flavors and scents). - These pills do not get "sticky" in the bottle like the Nordic Naturals do - You only have to take one pill to get 500mg of DHA. You need 2 pills of the Nordic Naturals to get just 450mg of DHA. - The price point for the NOW brand is significantly lower than Nordic Naturals, especially if you factor in the serving size (as noted above, you'll need to take 2 of the Nordic Natural pills to get to about the same amount of DHA as just one NOW brand pill) Very happy with these and will stick to this brand for the duration of my time nursing (and for any future pregnancies!)

I’ve been using this DHA supplement as part of my daily routine and I really like the quality and consistency. The softgels are easy to swallow and don’t leave a strong aftertaste, which is a big plus compared to other omega supplements. Omega 3s are essential. DHA is the most important Omega-3 for humans. EPA does a lot important things too. This product checks all the boxes on dosage, concentration, and ease of use. After 4 weeks of daily administration, I noticed a substantial improvement in overall mood and reduced negative emotion as related to stressful events and circumstances. It's noticeable on a daily basis. Very cool stuff. (You can get the same effect from eating a lot of oily fish, but this is faster and cheaper.)

I keep buying these, because being "molecularly distilled" ensures quality, along with being GMP. If you look at other fish oil products, the ratio of the total grams of fat and calories compared to the DHA and EPA is much worse than this product, meaning other products are more just non-omega 3 fish fats. I don't really want non-omega 3 fish fats.... This also means the DHA and EPA is more dense, meaning you don't need to take as many pills to reach the same dose. I take 3 a day and have been for years. It's actually a pretty decent dosage. No fish burps. Easy to swallow, similar to other fish oil pills of this size.

I have been buying these for a while. They seem to be a good product. I do like the Carlson labs DHA gems a bit more when I can get them for under $0.17 per capsule. The main reason I like the Carlson product a bit better is that I have to wash the Enteric coating off in warm water with the NOW brand DHA-500 before I take them. No, I am not a goof LOL. The reason for this is: When a fish oil capsule is Enteric coated it tends to dissolve in the stomach instead of the small intestine reducing the effectiveness of the product. (look it up) (update: I wrote this in reverse I meant it tends to dissolve in the small intestine and not the stomach.Thank you Claxon,Bill for the heads up) I personally opt for effectiveness over the burp. But for the price I just rinse them off in warm water and rub what turns white and slimy (That is the Enteric coating) off of the capsule. The Now DHA 500 Capsules are GMP certified. They actually contain more DHA than the Lovasa prescription fish oil. The one thing I would like to see is the addition of vitamin E.
