Made my old sander work like new.

Replacement pad for Porter-Cable orbital sander. Working well for hook & loop sanding pads.

I have a Craftsman orbital sander and this product was not labeled as fitting that brand. However, the hole measurements were exactly the same so I took a chance. The old plate has small recesses in it for the little nubs on the sander to fit. This plate does not have these and when I tightened it down, the piece wouldn't lie flat. It had high and low places in it. No matter how I loosened or tightened the screws, it would not lay flat. Picked up the old plate and saw how they were different, so I rubbed all the soft stuff off the old plate making it smooth. I then put the old plate back on lining up the nubs with the recesses, then put the new plate over that. Fortunately, the screws were plenty long enough to secure both plates. Problem solved.

Product works great. I have a corded dewalt 5” random orbit sander and this works so much better than my old worn out hook and loop pad. This sticks to the sand paper as it should.I did have to counter bore the holes so I could use the screws that came from the old pad.

This is not worth the money, despite the low price. It has a plastic back, and after about 15 minutes of use on a Porter-Cable sander the screws ripped through the plastic and the pad flew off. The original pad has a metal back.

The original pad for my sander started getting so bad that any disc I put on it flew off in literally two seconds. This pad was a night and day difference compared to a worn one, and the discs are actually staying on the pad now.

1/3 of the price of Porter-Cable.

I have never seen or had a hook and loop pad grab like this. It makes a difference. I have to be sure to rip off pads like a bandaid if I want to reuse them. Impressed.
