Easy to apply, effective.
Nice and easy, peel off the backing and stuck to the chip. I bought these to go on 7400 series IC's, so they are a little large but so far my infrared thermometer says the chips are operating at least 4-5 degrees cooler than they were (measuring the legs of the device, which are the primary heat sink method on the ones I fitted them to). Well worth it, hopefully this will extend the service life of some difficult to obtain parts.

Good solution
A good, simple solution, when you need a little more heat dissipated from your electronics. Stick them on a voltage regulator, IC, or anything.Inexpensive performance enhancer.
