Believe the negative reviews! Don't waste your money!
Believe the negative reviews! Don't waste your money! These things are a great concept, but poorly implemented. I decided to ignore the negative reviews and give them a shot, but I experienced the same as all the others. After only a few "wears", the Bluetooth started occasionally dropping out from the left insole. A restart of the app usually fixed the connection. Than the right one started doing the same. Then neither of them would stay connected for more than 5 minutes. I even deleted all appkill/battery-tender/anti-virus apps from my phone trying to figure out the problem. It's not my phone. its the poorly made insoles. When they worked (the first couple times I used them) the batteries died in about 3.5 hours on high, and one battery always died about 30 minutes before the other. But at least the insole was pretty comfortable to stand in....until the padded "stickers" started to slide off the batteries.I bought these to use while hunting. The use included a 5 minute walk to the hunting blind, then a few hours of sitting still, and a 5 minute walk back to my truck. Apparently that was too much for these insoles to handle.Even when they "worked" they didn't provide enough heat. I put them in heavily insulated hunting boots and wore heavy wool socks, but I still needed a disposable heat pack to keep my toes from freezing during sub freezing hunting days.Avoid this product.

Believe negative reviews.. great idea but they don't work as advertised. go with non "heavy duty" model w/ remote
Believe the negative reviews. Bluetooth connectivity is shotty at best and is quite frustrating. The insole heaters spontaneously shut off for no reason. Great if and when when they work, but not even close to reliable. The older product with dedicated remote works much better and I was happy with this product..was just hoping for longer battery life. This "heavy duty" model sucks. Prepare to have to take your warm boots off frequently to re-pair the bluetooth with your phone (assuming your phone doesn't die in the cold either). The only way to re-pair the device is to take the battery pack physically out of the insole and put it back in... if this sounds like something you'd like to have to do on a regular basis in the cold, then buy the product. (just think about where you're going to put your sock-covered foot down in the meantime while you mess with insole). Great concept, but it just doesn't work. Not worth a penny and I would spend a fortune to keep my toes warm to keep enjoying outdoor activities in Alaska in winter. Buy the non heavy duty model with a dedicated remote instead (the red ones). The remote is small, light and easily slips into a pocket or attaches to a backpack strap via keychain. I have them in my alpine touring ski boots and in my Muck boots that I use for fat-tire biking. If I were to do it all over again, I'd buy the older non heavy duty model and buy an extra set of batteries to bring on longer cold weather adventures...until they make a truly heavy duty model with a dedicated remote. Technology is great, but only when it works.

Great when and if they work!
The idea of bluetooth control is aneat idea. Butthe right sole is hit and miss, every now in then it works like it should, but more times than not when i open the app and want to turn on the heat, the right one, has the battery power strip shows nothing. One day I had fully charged the batteries, and put them in the soles but left them turned off. At the end of the day the one battery was shoe completely dead. And the one battery goes dead quicker than the other all the time.

Not dependable
Unfortunately they are hit or miss, sometimes the connect fine to the bluetooth, other times not. Once connected they lose connection for no apparent reason and then cannot reconnect. used them for hunting and while they worked all was good. Not sure when they disconnected. Going skiing in a week and am afraid won't either have them or have them working. Were a Christmas gift and hope I can return if I don't get a reasonable resolution from Thermacell ( Thermacell wa very nice, answered on a Saturday and "escalated" my issue. Still, will take up to 2 4 - 48 business hours to respond.

DON'T BUY (read to end)
To start these insoles work great when they work. Pairing to phone worked turned both on to check, felt heat. First couple uses, bow hunting, (temp about 30-40deg. F), they turned on kept my feet warm (thin or thick or extra socks check all 3). The heel battery pad does hold up well, no separation of pad. NOW REASON FOR ONE STARS, took them to northern WI for gun seasons, app could not get gps or was spotty gps, which caused the insoles to turn on and off or while I was messing with app to get them to turn on would leave them on high heat draining the batteries. Battery also drained very quickly b/c of the cold (12-20 deg. F). Li-ion supposed to be good for cold, well not with these. That weekend was a success, minus the $180 insoles not working well. Fast forward 11months later. Batteries did well w/o storage charging, charged them and they hold same use time. Only now my right insole is not turning on no matter what. Tried 3 different batteries, no status light. My insoles were in Muck boots, maybe a stump I tripped on or something I kicked dislodged a piece on the circuit board in the insole idk. Went to see if there was an app update with an error fix, no app exist on app store. Went to website, no website error, ip cannot be resolved. So if I was a person about to buy these DON'T. I havent tried calling # on packaging yet, but will soon. Final thought, complete waste of money, got couple uses for $180.

Purchased in October and by the end of January they don't work anymore
I am diabetic and I'm looking for a way to keep my feet warm. I sit at my desk most of the day and the tile floor is not warm like the rest of the office. These battery operated insoles worked great for the first two months, then they started glitching. One side would charge and the other side wouldn't. That happened a couple times, then they worked fine for a couple weeks. They started acting up again and ever since only one side will charge.Worst couple hundred dollars I've spent in a long time.

No extra battery
No extra batteries included. It is advertised with an extra battery, does this mean you get one battery for two insoles and then they are being real nice and throwing in an extra battery for the second insole? I assumed the product would come with 4 batteries, one in each insole and then the two extra.

So far so good after a couple of trial with the App
So far so good after a couple of trial with the App. (bluetooth connection with the batteries). The insoles are very efficient just by themself. The heat is very soft even with the maximum temperature setting. You won't get burned for sure ! The real test will be on my next session of kite-skiing at a low temprature.

Not what you wish they were
At -15 Celsius these will keep your feet from getting uncomfortably cold but definitely not warm. After a couple of hours they are useless. Not worth the money.
